The version I posted isn’t very character specific at all. I think it works on everyone midscreen. Obviously it’s the 2nd SA2 that you use to break their guard… the first is just in the setup. It feels a bit scrubby to me b/c it takes 2 meters instead of one… which limits how long you can keep the loop going. But by using an SA2 (and getting it to hit many times in the setup)… therefore holding them up while you SA2 again and dash dash wtver… it’s a setup for everywhere but the corner.
Guess I just posted it b/c I never see anyone do it… tho it allows very very easy unblockables against pretty much anyone. With a full 3 bars it looks like:
st.mp xx chicken, st.mp xx SA2 (prefer strong), immediate 2nd SA2(light), while they are still riding the first SA2… dash, dash, jump over, unblockable…
Obviously you’d just do normal unblockables for the characters it works on… but using this setup has allowed me to stick with the SA2 I love for more cast members. Doing the above does nearly the dmg of a tengu combo (tho not the stun) and only uses 2/3 of your meter instead of all of it.
Super nooby questions but I’ve had no success with unblockables in the past and will be going into training mode to try an get a few down soon. So,
the idea is to have a meaty normal hit on the crossup side just as the yagyou hits on the side it was launched?
how does one practice this in training mode? If I set the dummy to autoblock will it work or will the computer do some whack computer blocking to stop it?
I respect what you said about SA2 by the way aku. Even with Tengu I sometimes find myself just hyper focusing on building that meter then landing that mp into juggle at the expense of just playing good footsies, etc. Still figure I should have unblockables in my bag of tricks though.
Regarding training mode, I turn off blocking and if I manage to land all the hits and if the combo doesn’t reset when I do the chicken juggle, that means I did it right. There are a few occasions, I find, where blocking certain things would cause the rest of multi-hitting moves to hit differently or whiff, but this is very rare when it comes to Aegis or Yagyou.
And knowing how to do the unblockable is fine. It’s just the matter of learning everything else beforehand.
MadTitan: Show me footage of your rendition of the Unblockable, because I want to see this.
I will see what I can do. It’s nothing super amazing… just very very easy mode and seems to work on anyone midscreen. In terms of doing unblockable loops… it’s actually not the best b/c it eats two meters. I’ll see if I can get a (shitty) vid up later this eve.
I find a lot of cool things by accident. I’ve backdashed under hadoukens by accident, and dashing twice in quick succession i managed to squeeze under Akuma’s fierce tatsu and stay on the same side. Oro is basically flat when dashing O.o
Any idea on why kuroda choses to do an early s.mp into roundhouse chicken legs in the corner as the second part of the normal corner chicken juggle or is he just doing it because hes kuroda? I feel like timing the reset into sa2 so that you get a roundhouse that knocks down in the end instead of a roundhouse that resets or whiffs is easier if you do it the “kuroda way”…any thoughts?
Oro Is quite fun I just started using him two months ago I seem to be rather catching on quickly I’ve taken a liking to the chicken combo jab reset for anyone who isn’t familiar with Oro’s biography : http://streetfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Oro
Anyone picked up the new bnb that Kuroda has been doing? I saw him doing it vs. Alex but I imagine it should work vs. Urien and some of the similar floating characters (Necro, Dudley, etc). The combo is mp launch, mk chicken, step back, mp launch xx fierce fireball, hk chicken, mp drill. Does more damage than the usual chicken loop and probably more stun as well as there’s a fireball included.
I will check which characters it works on…
Meter gain is about the same and I’m pretty sure it does more stun.
Do these scale within a combo, by the way. I could check the actual numbers instead of just looking at the meters in practice mode.
It works on Alex, Urien and Necro. Urien seems a bit iffy at times because sometimes you get two hits with hk chicken which ends the combo. I haven’t quite figured out what makes it hit twice. On Necro you don’t need the step back and you can just crouch and wait for a moment (think shoto timing with the regular juggle).
Interesting. Unfortunately, that combo can’t be used to go into an SAII unblockable or SAIII/EXSAIII juggle. SAII is quite good vs most of the characters that this combo works on. The majority of the time that I get a laucher, I’d prefer the more orthodox combo since it will lead to UB loops probably until death.
Thought I would try the combo out:
For Urien you really need to get the hk chicken just right or you get the two hit knockdown. You want to hit him just after the highest point of the chicken I think.

Also, if you’re using SA2, you can go for MP xx SA instead of oniyama/drill.

I apologize as I didn’t turn infinite life/no stun off.
Yeah that’s too bad. However, you can still cancel it into SA2 and go for a high/low mix up with the ball. Also, if the opponent doesn’t tech roll you have enough time to go for a guardbreak unblockable.
