If anybody still reads this I have a question. For the standard 100% Stun combo, Does the second fukiage doesn’t need very strict timing? I can get it every once in a while but I feel like the few times I do land it I was doing it pretty slowly
EDIT: Can anybody give me any tips for the second dash? Based on some visual cues I’ve been hitting the kara mp about 90% of the time but I never hit the dash and always get like an oroshi or if I do get the dash a hayate comes out DX
for the first fukiage, you know you kara’d and timed it right by seeing that the falling sprite is “cupped” but makoto’s fukiage. actually, the “cupping” should also apple to the second fukiage. you probably already know what this looks like.
but anyway, timing timing timing is the most important part and that’s sort of something you have to feel for yourself. based on your EDIT, it looks like you’re trying to dash out of the 1st fukiage too early. wait a little longer. there’s more time to dash than it actually feels like. but it’s still strict.
as she’s the opponent is in the air, visual queues would have to be based off where the opponent is in they’re falling arc i believe it’s somewhere before they reach the top of the arc.
you mean dash at the top of their falling arc after the kara fukiage?
so like i was using akuma yesterday and had makoto in 1 pixel of health left with a full green health bar going for a perfect… i whiffed a shoryuken and then…

that’s how it goes. i liken it to the vanilla SFIV issue where you see Sagat with two meters and a nice chunk of ultra built up. you respect that shit and know that an uppercut is coming somewhere that can lead to big damage. same goes for makoto, except it’s a bit more extreme.
sometimes, against makoto, it may do well to back off a bit if her back is to the corner. i dun mean to say just let her out, but respect her SAII.
i dun mean to aim this at you specifically. but in general, if you see makoto with one stock, especially if you play a low stun character, why put your self in a situation where she can turn the match around with a good guess?
I’m basing my kara fukiage accuracy on how far back her fist is relative to the opponent. If you don’t kara correctly her fist is perfectly lined up with with your opponent… I think. I’ve been at this for like a week so you guys can yell at me as necessary
its easier to watch the edge of the screen it will shift slightly if you get the kara
you still play after all this time?
prepare yourself! my shitty makoto is coming back, yo!
^EDIT^
jblair,
continue to pester JAK…
with ALL your Makoto questions. he’s a walking encyclopedia.
When do you get back? In like a couple days? I wonder if I can put up a fight by now lol
So makoto mike pointed out to me that i was crazy for trying to do the stun combo with mp. I feel like an idiot now
it still works mp lp, it’s just different timing as lp lp, it’s whatever you are more comfortable with and according to MAKOTO -= STREET FIGHTER III THIRD STRIKE =- they have the same recovery which is what you’d worry about for the dash after the fukiage… lol (ps i have problems with this frame data anyway)
O_o
he really did say crazy?
if it works it works. and as Mackinzie posted above, both are viable. so go with what you can make work.
i think makoto mike is crazy lol
<3
no one said crazy just harder…
but its like whats the point if it still stuns and the timing is more leniant. This is a personal thing but the positioning of my hands fits lp better also
so i gave this a test yesterday in some real matches, and whatdoyouknow? MaMi was on point.
my success rate for landing the stun combo went from 0% to 50%.
i’m still going to be a stubborn old fart and stick with kara-mp-fukiage. that’s how i first landed it. i’ll just keep working with the stricter timing.
but to all you beginner players: use kara-lp-fukiage for the 100% stun combo!
See! MaMi knows fool! I got wayyy better at it just like that. It does a tiny tiny bit less stun but it’s far easier and it still stuns everyone that it’s supposed to
Does the 100% stun combo work on the Dreamcast version of 3S? I don’t know whether I’m just timing it wrong or whatever, but whenever I try to do s. hp into Art II in the training room, the computer randomly blocks it (Set to auto-guard).
