Complete "How to Change the Music in MVC2 + How to make your game selfboot" Thread

I’m a bit surprised people still interested in this… In case you were wondering, I stopped a while ago since I started work again but might get back into it… My goal right now is to crack the voices though.

What about editing stages? :wonder:

If I knew about 3D math. :frowning:

Man, I can’t even imagine how you would go about editing stages.

hmm, well I guess the first part is to identify what format the stages are in. When you figure that out, open that stage up with a program and get the dimensions of a stage. That way, your edited stage isn’t bigger or smaller than the original. I guess “outline” your new stage with the length and width dimensions then start adding things to it. You would also have to consider the computing power of the DC. If you make the stage with too many objects or high res shit going on, it will only add to the slow down frames when things get going.

I know mvc1 stages are probably slightly smaller but is it even possible to take an mvc1 stage, recompile it into the proper file extension and resize it to fit an mvc2 stage? it’ll look weird as fuck but if no one has any 3d programming exp, maybe its possible to create a 2d landscape into marvel?

Just knowing what files on the CD do what would be interesting to me.

This thread is incredible.

hehe, of course. In case you didn’t realize, you just granted a thousand gamer’s wish.

Well, that would be great news!

mmm, I’m slightly off-topic, but since the CPS3 thread’s pretty much dead, I guess it’s better posting here:

Speaking of editing the stages, are you still interested in SF3:3?
Since the backgrounds are not the best part of the art and they include no real 3D (only flat rendred pics), would you think of starting getting at it on this game?.. maybe?
I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one interested… the question being are you?

it’d be super tight to make it look like “sin city”. all black w/ the hint of red everywhere.

How Can I Make The Colors Transparent…? Dont Wanna Make A “Invisible” Character,But I Think Certain Things Would Look Good With Some Transparency…Can Anyone Help…?

Use the “A” (alpha blending) setting. Click Set A to apply that, since normally setting it is really really really bad.

Umm…Could You Explain More…& What Do You Mean By "Really Really Really Bad…???

So I’ve edited my first Iceman palette.

Followed the directions on how to do it. Everything works just fine.

Big ball drop thing, intro, taunt, ball hand and even super balls. Except IceBeam. It’s the only thing that’s default game color. T~T

Anyone else have the same problem?

Sorry, but Icebeam affects all buttons. If you edit it for one, you edit it for all.

Oh… so if I made it say… black, it will be black for all 6 palettes?

Exactly.

Damn. What would you suggest is a good all around color to use.

Cause I got a blood red Iceman. Lol.

a white with a blue tint
