Complete "How to Change the Music in MVC2 + How to make your game selfboot" Thread

Yeah it was Matrix…I vouch…erm, no one answered my previous question btw…>>…I dont need to be doing edits blind ppl!!

I actually just wanted to know what was the name of the airship stage song he put in there.

-EX

Discoverd this whole MVC2 soundtrack edit awesomeness when I went to a tourney a few years back. And while I don’t own a copy of the game, nor can I play it all that well, I like the concept so much I had to make a track listing of my own.

I realize my list is incomplete, so I guess you can consider this a list of suggestions to what everyone else has submitted.

Select Screen: Sirius by Alan Parsons Project.
Ship: Pirate Song by Running Wild
Carnival: The Show Must Go On by Three Dog Night
Clock Tower: For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica
Swamp Bridge: Driving With the Top Down, Iron Man movie
Desert: Word Up by Cameo (or the cover by Korn)
Factory: Avalon (Magneto Theme), X-Men COTA
Ice River: Cold As Ice by Foreigner
Cave: Ogre Theme, Tekken Tag
Abyss 1: Stricken by Disturbed
Abyss 2: Abyss Entrance Theme (Prequel), TNA Wrestling
Abyss 3: Abyss Entrance Theme (Down in the Catacombs), TNA Wrestling
Training: Summer Song by Joe Santriani

Thanks for humoring a MVC2 scrub.

Speaking of which, where is your second mix? :wonder:

I got a hold of some CD-Rs again, so I’m going to make a new mix, primarily since I MAY have finally found someone over here in TX to finally play MvC2 with. Going to sort of be a best of selection from my other mixes, and I this will give me a chance to up the sound volume on the tracks (they were sort of muffled in the past).

Also, someone please give me their custom color palette; I am far too lazy and devoid of imagination to make my own.

Thanks; I’m starting on my mix tonight.

anyone goin to ncr? and if so who is taking a mix?

Does anybody have this guide they can post up? My previous mix was DVD, but I don’t remember how I burned it exactly (I made that mix 2 years ago), and now I can’t make another mix, haha.

Please help?

I had a guide but not sure preppy will let me post, yo Romfinite i think i’m only going for day 2

Edit: look at page 165 my post

I meant for the PS2, by the way. Not dreamcast.

Why you would even consider playing MvC2 on PS2 beggars the imagination.

that mix was toooo goood!!!

anyone know where to get it?

Don’t know, sorry. But I do want 2 know as well, especially da Factory & da Ice Stage.

Question guys, I’m running vista 64, and when I’m trying to run selfboot.exe it says it’s not compatible with the 64 bit os. Anyone know what else i can do?

I have some major issues with creating a custom or even playing a custom version of MvC2 for a pal dreamcast .

the us selfbooting version of the game starts perfectly but it is shown in 50hz on my pal dreamcast . how do i change that ? i tried using pal patcher but it didnt work after i patched it the dreamcast tried to load it over and over and got stuck at the sega logo and reseted .

after that i tried to create my own custom version by using a non selfbooting image of the pal version of mvc2 , which is different to the us version cause it has a 50hz/60hz select screen and has some odd additional folder called bins it contains some random bin files but also the ip.bin and 1st_read.bin but the 1st_read.bin also exists in the root directory of the cd . so i followed the guide on http://www.custommvc2.com/index.php step by step but i all i got is a cd that tries to load but i end up in the dreamcast menu .

okay after all that i thought k just make a non self booting custom version
so i extracted all the files from the nonbooting iso added my custom music and made a iso out of it and burned it , so i start up my pal dc with the utopia boot disk 1.1 that actualy recognizes the game and starts to load it until it reaches 98% percent after that it just freezes .

i tried different methods and versions of the game , patches and so on but nothing seems to result in a working copy , it would be realy nice if someone has some clues .

thanks in advance

its not a full code, it usually ends in another parenthesis, but you would copy and paste it on the the 16 box grid

try killin yerself…
