is anyone working with making compilations with vista?
i need some one on one help… please??
whats the problem?
understanding it, really.
what i want is one set of colors with multiple playlists.
i tried doing it once but i just couldn’t grasp the concept. i know how to make a mix using combo mashers way but that’s it.
eidrian so whats the word?
He told me it would be out before the 20th, but Im not saying thats the date im just saying.
real quick, does anyone know if i can make a working custom CD for ps2 that will work with swap magic? or can i ONLY make it as a DVD??
i ask because i was just about to try my first remix attempt via the DVD burned ISO with my newly arrived swap magic, BUT THEY GAVE ME A BAD DVD-disc that doesn’t load up. >:-(
how’s about Ramstein, Evanesence, Blizzards WoW soundtrack, or Carl Orff? those are my current choices and i’m debating whether to combine them on one mix or make some separate mixes.
as for your other request, for help with multiple mixes, what exactly are you getting at? you can’t really pun multiple track lists off one disc, but you could make several ISO images with different music/same colors and then select your ‘disc of the day’. perhaps there’s a way, for the harddrive-loaded mvc2 to store and run multiple versions of the game too. don’t see why not.
Jobo
edit: fergot to mention that SteveF guide http://dhost.info/stevef/guide.htm it’s a bit easier to follow than combomasher’s but it IS ps2 specific, so while the basic concepts are the same, dc has some different requirements. i don’t know if you mentioned you were working on ps2 or dc.
Actually Toodles has shown us how to make a disc with multiple soundtracks and multiple color pallets
so it is possible
I think its only 4-6 colors and or pallets
his MvC mix had i think 6 different peoples colors and mixes
did you get the right version
cause i have had 3 different PS2 models and each one had a different Swap Magic
well, dude… you might be onto something. spch-700012 is my model number. the site i bought it from lists about 30 model #'s its good for. i assumed it covered mine as well. the closest # it lists is spch-700000.
why the heck would model # matter at all??
oddly, the CD-boot works just fine, so whats up with that?
hmmm, CD didn’t read with the Swap Magic bood-disc, says its “not a valid ps2 disc”. so now i have to discover if i got the wrong Swap Magic for my specific ps2, or the wrong process to create the custom disc. i didn’t even know they sold different versions. on the other hand maybe CD’s dont work for ps2 even though combomasher’s guide is for CD’s…
does anyone at all know the truth behind this CD/DVD mystery? because i need to eliminate factors to get at the root of what’s going wrong.
i’m concerned that now that i’ve narrowed down what should be a correct process, maybe something is off…?
i can do this DVD style as well (and did so initially before i found that the Swap Magic DVD-boot wouldn’t work at all). any reasons why this shouldn’t work?
The Way I Been Doing It For Like A Year Now Is Mostly The Same Except I Used “CDGEN” To Rebuild The Iso & Burned With “Burn At Once” . .Worked Fine Everytime. Then I Found Out You Can Put It On A Dvd By Using “ScanLight” To Make The Files Into Dvd Format. Then I Rebuid & Burned Using “Nero”.Also Worked Everytime.
My Main Reason For Doing That Was Because It Actually Speeds Up The Load Time And I Saw That I Could Fit More Into The Dvd. So Ive Been Working On Putting Multiple Of My Mixes Into One Dvd . . Basically What These Guys Are Doing , But Just For The Ps2.
Didnt Mention Anything Cuz I Thought I Was The only One That Bothered With Marvel On The Ps2, But If You Wanna Send Me Yours. I Would Love To See Something Other Then Mines.
well the PS2 MvC2 is burned on a CD
so keep it to CD format, dont try to do a DVD cause im pretty sure that it doesnt work. yeah you have to use the CD Boot Disc. On DC i had shitloads of bad burns before i figured out i was missing one step
what helped me is to just check and maybe do the step like 2-3 times to make sure i did it
and for the PS2 Boot Disc
it sounds like you have the Slim, they have a separate boot disc i believe, from the fat PS2’s. I had like 3 boot discs at one time, ver 1 ver 2.1 and like ver 2.4, some shit like that, but they can be tricky sometimes
also some of the boot discs need a chip or some special little attachment. I could be wrong but its been about 3 years since i last used my boot discs, and close to a year since i last used my PS2.
Just trying to help you narrow down the problem
thx. yeah, like i said combomasher’s guide was for CD, but his is ancient. a newer guide by SteveF http://dhost.info/stevef/guide.htm uses a DVD system. SteveF is easier to follow, but my Vista laptop and burner seem to eliminate the need for some programs.
going back over things i did forget that CD/DVD Gen has trouble with the direct disc image and won’t convert to DVD IML due to “not enough sectors”. and i DL’d a torrent “DVD rebuild” from somewhere. now i need time to recreate the steps to DVD IML. but dinners on the table & the wife has banned me from the laptop.
this is v 3.6 Swap Magic. all it said i needed was a way to run the ps2 with the lid opened. i did that myself. prolly gonna haveto talk with their support department now. i’m sure that’ll be a blast…
It Does Work On Dvd . . Just Have To Use DvdScanLight .Ive Done It Plenty Of Times . I Wouldnt Steer You Wrong. Im Getting Ready To Configuar MultiLoader.Elf So I Can Put My Mixes On 1 Dvd.
there is a way to do it with little pieces of cardboard
I did it with my Slim PS2 to play burned PS1 games
if you want ill show you how, just PM me
