We’ve finally completed what I call a somewhat stable release for the new PalMod, which official version is labeled 1.1 (gotta start using proper version protocol :)). Please read the notes that I have included in the rar file.

Most noticeable of this release is the preview of transparencies. Not all of the characters’ extras are done, some are glitchy or misplaced (they don’t belong in that extra, etc), some aren’t even gonna be added, like Abyss’. It is VERY important for us to know if you find any bugs on this. For the most part i know you’ll only load like 5 chars, we all know which, but be sure to check the rest, as its hard to get the correct images to display.
I hope this helps you guys to create some quality work for the New Years Mix. =]
Ultra props to buu for doing this, Magnegro for ripping me the images and making 8 isos a day just to get a single pose for a character <3, and Preppy for helping buu make this run on non-NASA computers. =D
I still believe that you should use old Palmod to edit, and use this one to check your work. So anyways, enjoy until v1.2!
Holy shit, I seriously just made my mix a fucking million times better within 20 minutes by being able to edit the extras and knowing exactly how it will look.
The whole program is much better now even the legacy options, everything. Haven’t noticed any issues so far, but I haven’t done much.
Thank to everyone that was involved, this is just fucking amazing. Next level of marvel editing is upon us.

The Revert, set color and get color buttons arent active on it, at least on mine. Also I noticed that on ryu his fireball and super are set up to appear on (extra 04) when they should be on (extra 02). Besides that it looks good to go.
I’m pretty sure that they said that they were going to remove the un-used palettes so I think that’s why they are out of order
Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t get either copy or paste to work sometimes, but I can’t tell what causes it. Example, I was trying to paste a Bison color into the Cammy extra from her winpose with him, but, it wouldn’t allow me to paste. Also, Ctrl + A for select all wouldn’t work for me either, I had to use the hold Ctrl + click on colors I wanted to edit method.
The omni-extras should be set properly. As in, removed the ones that aren’t working and kept the ones that do something. The normal extras however, are another story: they get offset when we get rid of them + at the time being, it’s best if we finish all the extras (implement the extra images) before we take out the basic extras.
There are some mistakes in the extras for a few characters. You should REALLY REFER TO EIDRIAN’S GUIDE while working on this stuff. Off the top of my head, Ryu’s, Omega Red’s, and Gambit’s are wrong. Nevertheless, this release should greatly help in every aspect of the process. Well, minus image export.
Cool anecdote about psylocke: we tried like 5 different methods, each more complicated than the last, to rip psylocke’s extra images and none of them worked. finally eidrian gave me the idea to just swap the names of the files like those guys did in that one bug video where everyone is doing weird stuff. The idea ended up working and that’s why there are a ton of extra images for psylocke.
Also, you guys should really read** NOTES.TXT** that is in the palmod rar.

It took me about two minutes to find dumb extra edits from my old mix and about two minutes to fix it up using the new palmod. :tup:
I’m so glad this is finally out. I’m pretty confident with most extras with the exception of Doom’s fierces and supers, psylocke, and some cable stuff. Right on time to put some finishing touches on the newness for NEC. Looking forward to seeing a lot of nice stuff there.

New Palmod is incredible. Sad that Blackheart’s extras aren’t added yet, but I’m loving the work that has been put into this one.
Question: I notice when I sent it to auto-set adjust color change, “get color” is deactivated. Was this the only/best way this could be done?
Well, BH was coded by Satan himself, moves have different sets of palettes depending on what you’re doing or what button you picked BH with. To tell you the truth, that is the last character i will edit. =(
On another note, slots for New Year’s Mix are officially open:
- 10 color sets (might be less, depending on how many characters each pack has, will be updated as they come by)
- 6~7 music mixes, no default audio.
Spots will close as i get packs from people. Anyone is welcome to submit as long as it doesn’t hurt the eye/ear, and preferably no re-used stuff. Since i want this to be out by the end of the year, Dec 25th is deadline. Anything outside this day will be discarded, so tell Lalo to start beasting on time. =P
Also, i will not receive packs that aren’t FULLY complete, I’m not taking ‘fixes’ or ‘swaps’ after the 25th, so be sure to get your stuff clean. You know how it works, if you have something ready upload it to your fileserver of choice in a RAR, and include a TXT file with whatever info you want, including soundtrack listing and whatever notes you want for your characters. Also include the avatar for the mix, it should be SRK size (160x64). PLEASE don’t include unedited characters or 1 button-edit only characters. Seriously, if you want to contribute to this, edit the whole 6 buttons or don’t add it to the pack. Might be some exceptions to the obvious nearly impossible Shuma, Colossus, Megaman, and Roll if anyone ever dares to use her. AFAIK, newest Palmod has some automation features, i’ll point out this week which work and which don’t, or you can feel free to experiment and find out for yourself. =]
About the music, last time i had to reencode ADX to WAV in order to raise the volume for them, then reencode them to downsampled ADX. I think they came out pretty good, so i’ll use that method again. So here are the rules for audios:
-Should be max 3min40sec long for versus stages & select screen, menu should be about 1min, training can be up to 8min, so choose wisely. You can add logo, winquote, capcom logo and perhaps opening (should be of the duration of the opening, no 5min stuff please).
-Should be WAV or MP3. I will not take ADX this time, since it’s extra work for me.
-Songs should be edited accordingly, that means use Audacity or whatever stuff you like to get them as you wish, preferably with no silence at the end or beginning cuz of looping issues. Also it helps save precious kb’s in the cd. But if you can’t find a good looping point, then you can just fade it out or whatever.
-Should be renamed to whatever stage you want them in. So if you want “Abba-Dancing Queen” to be the carnival stage, it should be named: “ADX_S030.wav or mp3” (depends on you)
-If you would like it looped, add a “(loopme)” tag to the filename.
-Should have a TXT with whatever was used in the stages.
-Stages accepted: Every stage except Abyss 2nd and 3rd, Game Over, Credits, Here comes a new challenger, rank and continue.
If i’m limited for space, then Abyss 1st and Opening would be most likely to go. Just like last time.

Hopefully Suupabuu can provide a working Image Export function for extras and normal palettes by the 25th or New Years day so people can make montages of their colors.
What is the size dimensions for the image we can attach to represent our mix?
