Can a DC made after 10/00 play mixes? I can’t find an “old” one that doesn’t have problems.

Here are the colors for my new mix I’m working on. I’m new at taking screenshots and editing them, so sorry if the shots don’t look cool.

Pretty much I just wanted to match colors with everyone I edited, and they would be:

lp: red and blue
lk: green and khaki
hp: dark grey and dirty gold (?)
hk: pink and white
a1: ice blue and dirty yellow
a2: dark purple and lunar blue

edit: the password to get into the album is pinkee

Also I am really having trouble editing Cammy’s counter sprites. I know that they are supposed to be from bright blue to dark blue, but it is really giving me trouble.

Lol out of all those colors, I never would have thought…in my most recent mix, my HP is pink and white.

The whole mix is basically: this with the yellow/black replaced with light purple on darker purple and the all red replaced with pink and white. We got basically the same Mags, Sent and Cable. My IM looks like your WM and my Cyclops, Strider and Doom are mostly pink.

Really liking the A1 and A2.

I really like the Faded Blue/Greyish look on all the characters a lot. I think it’ll give me an idea about the next batch of edits I do.

I gotta transfer my edits to a normal MVC2 burn. I’ve been going over of one of Doc’s burns he brought to my house a while ago. He’d kill me if I leaked any of his colors…even though I’ve seen a bunch of stuff on youtube of the mix I have. I replaced every characters Jab with white/grey with some sort of blue accent, the rest for everyone except top tier and top tier assists are Doc’s colors.

The grey blue was one of the first colors I did but scrapped until recently. A co-worker said the grey/blue Magneto reminded him of Batman and we’ve been calling him Batneto since.

I’ll upload the changes I made in a lil bit if I have time.

I just tried using the muitple LBA copying program I linked to: I can’t get it to work at all. Sorry. That leave us with either using Linux, or Cygwin.

So here’s some steps on how to do it with Cygwin. The idea is the same as in linux, but I’ll try to lessen the amound of command line stuff. First, a script to do the hard work for you:

The setup instructions:

1. Install Cygwin if you haven’t already. www.cygwin.com
2. Save that as ‘dupelink.sh’ in your cygwin directory (like C:\cygwin\dupelink.sh)
3. make the script executable- open up a cygwin window, and type ‘chmod +x /dupelink.sh’
4. make sure you have the tools youll need. At the cygwin window, type ‘ln’ and hit enter to see if it gives you a ‘command not found’ error. Same thing with ‘md5sum’ ‘cdrecord’ and ‘mkisofs’. If any give the commnd not foud error, you need to install it by running through the cygwin installer again and finding the package you need. If you have mkisofs and/or cdrecord not installed, but somewhere else on your system, you should be able to copy them into c:\cygwin\bin\ and use them fine.

To make the disk
This part can be done entirely in windows. Just pick directory to work in and copy everything you want in there. To keep things easy, use c:\data. If you’re wanting 3 different copies of MvC2, each with different music, go ahead and make 3 subdirectories, copy all of your original MvC2 files into each subdirectory, then replace the ADXs in each one. Yes, that will take up a lot of space on your hard drive, but not for long. Go ahead and work as if your CD-R could hold gigs and gigs. Setup your browser for a boot menu as normal. BINHACK all the executables. Once its all setup to work properly, but is just way too big for a cd-r, then you’re ready to build the disk in cygwin.

1. Open a cygwin window
2. ‘cd c:’ #to change directory to the c: drive
3. ‘cd data’ #to change directory to the data directory
4. ‘/dupelink.sh’ # to run the script. This might take a little bit depending on how large your directory it
5. ‘rm md5sumslist dupemd5sums dupefiles extrafiles’ #get rid of the files used by dupelink.sh
6. ‘cd c:’ # leave the data directory
7. ‘mkisofs -V GoldenStillAintPaidShit -C x,y -o data.iso -cache-inodes data’ #replace x and y with the proper values

Burn your first session, IPINS the data.iso, and burn the data.iso.
If you want to change this to work on linux, you’ll want to change the parameters to the two ‘cut’ commands in the scripts; different diff’s show their output different ways.

Lies, all models can read CD-R’s (unless you want the hello kitty one). The newer ones (Oct 2000 and after) have the code in the BIOS stripped that made it possible to boot ‘usual’ cd-rs, you need to burn them with some special technique that i’m not allowed to discuss here. Just go search in another board for those methods.

So in a few words, just buy one whose manufacture date is on or before October 2000 and save yourself some trouble (look on the back of it, in the service sticker).

EDIT: Another way to check is if the console has a (0) or (1) on the underside, (2) will not load backups. It should have a circle and a number right next to the NTSC-U legend.

Already found the song earlier on youtube and then once I got name and confirmed dmc track like Donut suggested I went through my old pile of cds and found it. Shows how bad my memory got, I used to literally remember track to song. I’m old now

So a selfboot marvel won’t work on new dc :sad:
