my new mix

Fair enough. Anything you did like? Throwing it out seems kinda harsh, considering many change the color of a character’s face to blue/purple, etc… It seems you have a knack for noticing subtle colors changed to not so subtle colors, and that is fine. The way I see it, it is a personal preference.

The Colossus is very dark. I definitely agree. He is the only one with that dark an armor in either mix. If I remember right, that was at VDO’s request on my mix. Still, I agree with you on that.

Tron: Again, personal opinion. With the wave colored, I personally can see how far it actually extends from the robot suit (a lot). When she jumps out, you’re either gonna get hit with it or not. I don’t see how it distracts from gameplay, and no one who plays it at various (MWC, T9) events has ever said anything is too distracting on either mix. For me, when you change the colors, you can actually see the specials/supers better now. I understand neither one of my mixes are Tourney suitable, but I made a deliberate decision to not make them that way. I didn’t want to restrict myself with the (definitely) necessary editing rules that would hinder my project. I chose to make my first mix true to the character they may represent

Thanos’ Specials/Supers were not edited on that mix.

The Venom was horrendous. That was at the request of the person playing him. His team of Venom, Thanos and Doom all had that Light blue tone. Either way, I agree…

The first two vids are from my last mix (The matching mix) one that mix, I decided to have as much follow that color scheme as possible.

Primary color
Secondary color
Weapon color
Lasers, Beams and flames

All follow the same scheme. Considering most people chose to make their specials the same color as the character’s clothes, I believe it is a interesting change. I made the decision to have everything follow the scheme, regardless the outcome. Countless people have complimented both mixes and sought out copies. I understand I can’t please everyone.

Bottomline: any advice you want to share to improve my next mix?

Weird on the Thanos thing: it seemed that when he was doing his back FP that the colors were off, but that may be my mistake.

Tron: the rings not being visible is an advantage, much like the Kobun Capture being invisible. The third ring is sneaky, and being able to exploit it is of high value.

I think you made the right point: you’ve chosen to go down a path that I generally dislike here, and that’s great - I just probably am completely utterly useless to you. Other people would have far better advice: I feel bad about even commenting since you and I clearly have different tastes.
I did like some of what I saw - the Sprite (lemon/green) colors looked interesting, but the capture was dark enough that it was hard to cleanly tell how differentiated the character elements were, which is important. The black Colossus might have looked great, for example, but it was hard to tell in the video. This is one of the cases where PNG captures from PalMod are probably superior for analysis.

If Suupabuu ever has time to finish the Preview update, I’ll try to make it easy (if he doesn’t already!) to capture PNGs of the complete roster color set. =)

Geico commercial?

Tron: Ah, now I see. For a Tron player, it’s evil and deceptive. I was looking at it from the hittee standpoint, not the hitter.

In regards to Thanos, I did alter the color of hit both jumping and standing Fierce. That attack is HUGE. I mistakenly thought you meant Special attacks (bubble, spear dash, etc…No. No etc, what other specials does he even have!?)

Yea, I hate the quality of youtube vids.

Actually, despite the difference in tastes, your opinion was requested and is valued.

ah don’t take me too seriously… no one does. :shake:

edit: my plan is to completely ruin the game by making “power ups” such as juggs, colossus, and geif to turn completely transparent when they power up… maybe even giving all chars the same color costumes. that way when ppl play with the same chars against eachother they probably will get easily confused of who is who.

i did something like that with ryu ken and akuma
i made ryu look like ken and ken look like ryu, that shit confused the hell out of me
and i knew

oh yeah i made a Ghost-work team
i made team clockwork ghost looking
took down the transparencies a bit and only let certain moves stay unchanged… it was pretty fun

hmm how bout making colossus very transparent but still visible and his shine leave the transparency alone, maybe lighten it by 2-3 that way all you really see is his shine
that would look hot

oh yeah i am damn near finished with a mix that has the entire cast set to 1 button colors
so if you pick your team with all LP then its gonna be a matchig team, easily distiguishable

oh yeah my buddy made all colors of sent all black except for his shoulder triangle which he made different for each button, that was pretty confusing at first. I was thinking about doing that, just changing 1 small detail on a char and keep the same color for all buttons that way you would have “spot the difference” kinda thing
make the game a little fun
cant wait to see what you come up with
i only have time for my 1button color thing right now.

Jonny, that is beyond evil.

I have a question about editing IM’s normals.

I was looking at eidrian’s pallette guide, and it did not have all the information on there on which id edits what.

Do IM’s normals follow the same as WM’s? or are they different?

I believe they do, although the repulsor blast is noticably absent from one of them. I forget which ID it was.

Any input on my colors would be greatly appreciated. IMO, they are great. No whack ass combinations, and everything looks “correct”. No over saturated colors or weird effects. I tried to make it look like as if mvc2 came with these colors by default. Oh yeah, every button is the same color scheme for matching teams. There is just something so sexy about matching teams. The only bad things about it are Iceman, I left his ice beams some strange looking silver/gray color. It looks off, but not that big a deal.

As for music, it is rap, but instrumental. I know my peoples, so they can appreciate some ill beats. I have also created the best trance mix out there which people up here have enjoyed very much. Only reason it is not on there is because I forgot to leave Zach an extra copy.

Thanks toodles for setting this up. I will have some more mixes ready for the next time you make another compilation. Also, thanks to Zach for hosting the files. Thanks to everyone else for contributing.

Your colors were pretty cool, what did you think of my mix?

I’ve created a monster.

Dr. Eidrianstein, I presume…

I think the “zombie” jill edit was a pretty cool concept

mine blew donkey balls eh? lmao.

…i agree.

Thx, Rogueish1.
That is actually a possible mix I have been considering. Have a zombie version of everyone at the bottom buttons.
Marvel vs Capcom Zombies!!

Hey, it might work…

is there any other full sets posted other than preppys? i like preppys but im not a huge fan of some of the color schemes since i used some of them before.

big ups to preppy for upping his, i’m to lazy to edit the attacks so this helped me alot.

I’ve heard a rumor that if you burn the Evo mix disc, you could look at all the edits on that disc on your PC and learn from those.

Wow I used people avatars when I made my multi musical marvel disc(Big thanks to you a while back when I hounded your help)

Wich version of palmod is being used now? Sorry Ive been out of the color editing game for a while.
