I’m sure everyone here can execute all of SFV Chun Li’s tech nearly 100 percent in matches already. I’m sure you have all of the 1 frame walk forward combos and Karin’s JF Tenko AA’s and combos 100 percent too. Good job guys.
Dhalsim is more offensive than he’s ever been and Laura was going absolutely HAM to win this Capcom Cup tournament, but defensive game doe. We staring at each other like American CVS2.
How exactly is going into a throw or going into safe normals to reset the same situation considered going “Ham” couse thats basicaly laura’s offensive game which btw even players like poongoko lose to from 2 mixups. But whatever I hate online arguments on theory of fg’s, they are endless. If you like the game keep playing.
Its ham enough for me. If you like the game you can keep playing too. We are. I’ve been playing 3rd Strike, CVS2 and other games since they came out and placed at a lot of majors for 3rd Strike, but I don’t need to bring that up.
If you can’t handle the heat you can leave the kitchen and sit in the family room
Large cash pots will always have large numbers of entrants for tournaments, this tells us nothing. Maybe I’m in the minority, but the game isn’t fun to watch and it’s not as fun as other games to play. I can’t bring myself to watch long sets, can barely make it through ‘high level’ matches or combo videos. It’s not disinterest, it just feels like a chore and is fantastically boring.
It can’t rely on Capcom heavily subsidizing tournament pots for long, or having it’s main rival game being stricken from other tournament venues to artificially boost it’s hype and image as the ‘go to’ fighting game for the community.
I’m pretty confident in my prediction, edit, resigned would be a better term as nobody gains by this game going the way of the SFxT.
SF5 is the worst game in the world because it doesn’t have single player training mode tech and combos that I spent hours learning while my life fell apart around me.
I really wish SF5 had more stupid button shit I had to hit every time I did anything. I want to have to keyboard monkey out option selects every time I jump in to cheat a 50/50 situation into a 75/25 situation. I want to double tap and plink every button like an accountant. I want free damage for getting hit with ultras. I want to mash out reversals and fadc to protect my sorry ass for playing without thinking.
It’s intensely obvious the game was pushed out early. I very, very much doubt the game designers are happy about the state it was released in. It was not a ‘decision’ the games designers made to lack basic single and multiplayer features.
I don’t know if they pushed it out for the CPT, which would be moronic, if they just ran out of operating capitol and needed more (which is also very unlikely), if they were trying to release for a fiscal year date, or simply because they set a date for release and fucked up amazingly badly in delivering what they expected to in that time frame. There is no way this was the game they intended to release. Aside from missing content the game was buggy and broken, the interface is hilarious garbage, and they couldn’t even deliver their store on the same month they delivered the game.
The weaker throw game and emphasis on counters and white chip I’m sure is stuff taken from XTekken as well. White chip is like SFV’s version of the red health system that makes your throw do more damage to make up for the shit range on most neutral throws.
To my understanding. SFV was released in a early/unfinished state do that tournaments can stay on schedule. I can’t speak on gameplay because I haven’t played it. But from what I’ve been hearing. many are enjoying it, and with the rage quitting issue now being resolved and the servers are working just fine. People are now really enjoying the online. So gameplay wise and functionality wise it appears solid. So with a rock solid foundation like that there’s no way this game can fall into obscurity or just completely die. And with free content coming down the road with no other disc needing to be bought. The game is only going to grow. it had a slow start that definitely could have been avoided by Capcom simply informing people why the game will be released in this state or just scheduled the full release for March and sold this a pre access beta. Same shit but just word it differently and people will eat it up. Also as for the DLC characters. Um Street Fighter always starts with a smaller roster. Which is good because a small cast that expands is much easier to balance than a whole bunch of characters all at once.
@akumanoob Judging by your post it seems like you really want this game to fail, but at the same time you see that it’s very unlikely.
Me too. I’m always excited to watch Spooky’s channel’s Next Level Battle Circuit, but I’m ashamed to say I’ve fallen asleep trying to watch SF5 games played.
I feel sad for SFV’s launch. It’s been terrible. So many glaring flaws. Many modes didn’t make it in and the only new one, Survival, just tilts people to hell and probably makes them wanna take breaks from the game, as if ragequitters weren’t already doing that. I genuinely thought SFV would put a small dent into MKX’s playerbase but it’s content offerings are far too pathetic to have any real impact. MKX has you unlock well-made costumes by doing various activities within the game while SFV makes you grind with the possibility of having to do it all over again just for some poorly made colors.
I haven’t been playing as much because I got a bit tired of waiting times in between matches and there’s simply nothing to do outside of playing online. Oh and as a PC player…going back to MKX isn’t really an option ___
That’s another aspect where SFV should be able to get through the cracks in later on. Im sure there’s a lot of pissed off PC MKX people who will be happy to jump on SFV as it gets more content
