Arcanine will probably fall off in usage as a defensive supporter in Doubles, but it still has its Singles niche with Burn Up/Firium Z if/once Incineroar gets Intimidate.
Sad that Qian lost, but he should have brought Mimikyu to cancel out all that damn stalling on the other guy’s team.
Arcanine probably outclasses inciniroar. While inciniroar has better offense and a secondary typing, arcanine’s typing works better with intimidate and the priority and speed are super useful to pass up for inciniroar
Incineroar also has Fake Out and U-turn, as well as Darkest Lariat for busting up stat-uppers. They do different things, but Incineroar will definitely have more utility in Doubles than Arcanine.

Yeah that darkest Lariart is something. Basically Tells evolite users such as Porygon 2 to fuck off and he can function as a Trick Room counter. As well as Minimzie Muk shenanigans. I believe with a Choice Band Dark Lariat even with the resistance is a 3hko.
Hmm lets break down what Incineroar and Arcanine bring to the table
Incineroar
HP:95 ATK:115 Def:90 Sp.ATK: 80 Sp.DEF: 90 SPD: 60
Arcanine
HP:90 ATK:110 DEF:80 Sp.ATK: 100 Sp.DEF: 80 SPD: 95
Incineroar actually brings more raw bulk and slightly more physical offense. While Arcanine has more speed and still respectable bulk
They both get intimidate, and Snarl combo. Both have priority in the form of extreme speed and fake out respectively. Both get Will O Wisp.
I think the real difference maker between the two is Arcanine’s speed along with recovery via Morning sun vs Incineroar’s Defensive buff ignoring Darkest Lariat and greater defensive and offensive stats.
One can stall pretty well while the other can punch through defensive pokes and has some recovery in the form of Leech Life which can work with assault vest.
I think both have a place in the meta just depends on what you think your team needs. A fast bulky poke that can soften your foe attackers and stall? Arcanine
A Bulky poke, that can put a hurting on defensive pokes while still softening threats? Incineroar

That pretty much sums up how that guy lost in that tournament @Bious linked. His team was so focused on staying alive that he really didn’t have much that can dish damage. His Arcanine was stalling well against that Goodra and Porygon 2. But all that stalling without any damage dealt is doing just that. Stalling, just delaying the inevitable.
