Oh yeah, for the tournament Ash-Greninja is technically not in the Pokedex and is not allowed. Magearna is allowed though!

Right now all of the Tapus are powerful, Aegis and Lando-I got banned again, Lando-T is still popular, Toxapex is a popular new wall, all Ultra Beasts are good (Besides Guzzlord who has a lot of issues and Pheromosa who is extremely powerful and likely to get banned), A-Marowak is a popular anti-Meta mon, Dugtrio got a boost in attack and can tear a hole in teams, Genesect and Hoopa U are unbanned and causing havoc, Greninja is just chilling, Pelipper and Manatine got life-saving buffs that have made them shine, Breloom died due to fairies, Gengar fell off his throne of OU Forever King due to losing Levitate, Clefable faltered a bit due to new fairies and T-Wave Nerf, A bunch of Megas are missing, and Talonflame died as well due to nerfing.

Gengar is still King of OU, people just haven’t realized it yet. Losing Levitate just gave it more power due to Tapus being everywhere… Pseudo STAB Psychic/immunity to Sucker Punch, Pseudo STAB T-bolt/immunity to Sleep, Extra healing/EQ debuffs/Pseudo STAB Giga Drain(post-Bank).
Plus being able to shit on all the Tapus in addition to Z-move shenanigans, the plodding pace of the Alola Dex making it in the 90% percentile of speed, as well as its ridiculous movepool keep Gengar winning.
Thanks for the rundown. I just learned about Pheromosa and it seems pretty damn busted. Trying to currently get a good nature on it. I want to use Pheromosa, but I have a feeling it’s gonna get banned pretty soon. I’m not even sure if I’ll have a real team by the time PokeBank comes out.
For now I’m considering Nihilego, Pheromosa, and Garchomp. Need to look into other mons I’d like to use I guess. When PokeBank comes out, I’ll probably put Mega Venusaur back on the team since he’s my boi.
