Swept by Mega Lopunny, I knew it would nail me sooner or later. Still not a bad day–sometimes the crits in this game is ass though.
But anyway, people are saying my team is ok but it’s not top tier enough. Roserade can’t take a hit, Skarmory is better than Hippo, Chansey is better than Snorlax. I DID consider Serperior, but I like to stick to the gameplan on how the team gets the jump on you with odd movesets, and then proceeds to wear you down if the battle drags on. In my losses, the opponent immediately saw my gameplan with excellent predictions, and used a mega to punch holes in the team.
I do agree it’s time to switch things up a little bit, but only because I have some interesting things I wanna test out. I thought I was ready for GEN 7 but I still have much to learn about this GEN 6 Meta.
Since you are running gyarodos I would say make it mega dd set and drop tsareena for Ninetails with Aurora Veil and light Clay. Screens basically guarantees that Mega Gyarados will get 2 dances and sweep from there. If you need someone to soften that up run Porygon Z. Especially if your going to take my advice on Ninetails. Those screens make it easier to get z-conversion going and it literally punches holes through everything that Gyrados can’t. It out speeds phermosa and several other threats and can OHKO with easy with Adaptability shadowball.
I must admit I dont know much about Incineroar to make a good suggestion so I would go with what has been said about him by everybody else. I think your team is a little slow and it needs rocks or web support to compete as it is now.
Hmm I like Tsareena though but I’ll give Nine Tails a try. We talkin aloan Ninetails I assume? And Porygon Z OK. I have no one I can trade with to evolve a porygon though. And Porygon Z will be scarfed right? I have 2 more slots open so if my team lacks speed. What can I use to for the last two slots?
You use normalium z as your item. Your moveset must include coversions. So when you use your z power, it’ll power up normal moves into a z move. Z conversion gives you +1 to atk, def, spa, spd, and spe and then changes your typing to match the move in the first slot. So a moveset of Tbolt/ice beam/shadow ball/conversion would make you an electric type
Using Conversion as a Z Move gives Porygon a +1 in all stats and changes it into the element of its first attack. With Adaptability as its ability it’s gonna do a ton of damage.
Ah OK cool. So basically a Ancient Powerboost along with a stat change. So you can get slick and have a move in the first slot for checking certain pokes. OK so what would be the ideal nature? Timid or Modest? Also any suggestions for the two remaining slots on my team?
Yeah they pretty much hit it. The most common types are electric and ghost because they give you good resistances, good coverage. Basically you are hitting with a base 160 atk from over 500 spc atk with one of the beat offensive typings in the game (ghost)
I run
Porygon Z
Timid 216 speed to out speed pheramosa
252 special atk
And the rest in HP.
Shadowball (must be first to get ghost typing and adaptability shadow ball)
Discharge for hax
Filler
Conversion
You can run modest on him. Id suggest tbolt/ice beam on any set with this. The other move really depends on your team. It’s also up to you to run tbolt or another move in slot. What’s the rest of the team looking like?
@infernoman You talking about things that made you mad… But man how do you trap a ferrothorn with magnet pull and switch on it instead of spamming HP fire. I mean, you were in rain but it was about to run out. Also, it’s hard to justify using mega Venusaur, when you can just play Bulu, and use another Mega imo.
