At Community Tierlist - overview you can see a brand new dynamic tierlist which is a combined effort of all people on the SRK character forums.
The goal of this web application is to get all people who main a certain character to give their opinion on that character matchups, and then to combine all that data in one overall list.
The idea worked pretty well when performed by the Rose forum (http://shoryuken.com/f277/rose-mis-fortunes-rose-match-up-poll-263465/), most users reached a consensus and Rose got a nice analysis that ranked her around 13th to 17th place, on par with the latest opinions on her by American and Japanese top players.
If all character forums take a small effort to go vote on their character we will get:

[] a community-generated tierlist
[] a cross-matchup view on each matchup (as for example Sakura vs Ryu will be ranked both in Sakura view as in Ryu view)
[] and when enough data is provided: a statistical view on contested matchups, on agreed upon matchups and more!

Because this list is open, and inputs are sensitive I took a few measure to get better results:

[] You need to provide the forumcode of you character to validate your vote (provided here), so that you can’t simply click around and vote on anything you want
[*] The extreme votes are removed statistically (10% lowest and 10% highest are discounted)

Currently only 6 red panty abusers have voted, while we need 10 votes per character to get a good average. Most forumboards have 10+ votes at this time. Are there any more active Sakura users on this forum?
Well, what good is a community tierlist when a much larger amount of the community doesn’t really know what the matchups really are (this is not just for Sakura, but for pretty much all of the characters).
I don’t really feel like my votes would be worth much of anything considering I haven’t played half of the cast in a tournament setting.
And even then, my thoughts on a lot of the matchups would be effected by the local metagame.
Though I suppose that’s the point of this project, get everybody who plays a character to throw some numbers at a chart and eventually the numbers should level out.
I might take a crack at it.
EDIT: Took my shot anyway. There were a few matchups I straight don’t know, so I abstained on a few, and for the ones I wasn’t too sure about, I erred on the side of even. Though for a lot of the heavy unfavorable matchups, my metagame’s flooded with most of those guys, so that’s probably just frustration talking, anyway
I like the idea of community tier list, it gives an interesting look at the matchups more in line with my skill level. I’m suprised at the seth matchup since a lot of people feel so positive about it. I was wondering if it was just my lack of experience or what but I have never beaten a “good seth player” as sakura. I feel she has no real answer for his zoning game, or his offense when he has meter to fadc. I only secretly pray he makes a mistake and I can do one full combo mostly.
