Sagat is much better in this game. St.Lk is viable poke and one of the better pokes in the game. It can be canceled into cr.mp for safe pressure block string. It can be canceled into st.mk to the keep them out in a block string. It also canceles into all of his normals.
You can’t jump TS’ on reaction. He has a much more footsie oriented game.
With sagat/king, F.RH->F.RH->Kara H.TU-> 3xKnee->RJB does around 582 for 1 bar (the tag in), so thats some pretty beefy damage for relatively easy input/reactions, anti air of course but it will really make people think twice about jumping in id hope

Sagat’s partner can COMBO off a Overhead that is tag canceled, great way to keep you safe if you have meter, no risk all reward(unless they wake up dp lol). Gets Sagat out safely, brings partner in and gets free combo
If I’m thinking what you’re thinking than yes, but in actuality, they aren’t.
Cancel is when a move you have like crouching medium punch can go directly into a special move like Tiger Uppercut after hitting the opponent. That would work with crouching mp and not crouching Hard punch which means crouching medium punch CAN BE CANCELED into Tiger Uppercut while crouching Hard punch CAN NOT BE CANCELED INTO tiger uppercut.
Tag Cancels are different, that is when your partner is tagged in off a special move.
sagats most damaging combos start from his foward step kick “f+hk” check it out in training.
getting two f+hk is ideal for no meter with a TU ending it but really after one f+hk you ex TK into jump hp into hp TU
basicly let my lay it out for you
F+HK:
TU= 270 dmg (when u got no meter and cant make 2 f+hk’s happen this is solid)
EX.TK,J.HP,land then HP.TU= 415dmg (cost 1 meter for solid dmg off the step kick. the TU has to hit deep and really close so best to wait for half a sec after landing from the jump attack)
SUPER or CROSS ART= 430 or 521(ogre) dmg (cost 2 or 3 meters and is brainless easy, also has every hit of super including both starting knees)
EX.TK,F+HK,SUPER= 560 dmg (3 bars of meter…worth it? situational i think. just like the first one but just sub the j.hp into hp.tu for f+hk into super)
F+HK,F+HK:
TU= 360 dmg (they have to be max height on there jump for 2 f+hk’s. this is easy)
EX.TU= 400 dmg (derp)
SUPER= 499 dmg (herp derp)

i seriously love f+hk its 10frame poke and is really fast and safe on block does 120 dmg 150ch but still can only combo after hitting airborn opponents. also pretty much eats most if not all of your juggle points.
using this move takes timing and conditioning your opponent to get dumb and jump.
agreed. not only is a decent poke, but it puts Sagat’s damage levels more on level with some others. You can easily hit 650 dmg after 2x f.hk, TU tag cancel into whatever.
Plus it really makes people scared to jump in on him.

j.HK, cr.MP, cr.HP, LaunchTag, cr.MP, cr.MP, QCB-HK, TagCancel, Tiger Genocide before final Hunting Hawk kick sends them to the ground (apparently if you leave it until after they bounce you only get on hit off of TK’s/Super).
(EDIT - Unverified damage as I think counterhit was on at time of discovery)
Could most likely get a bit more damage for that meter but everytime I added to it I would get less damage due to scaling.
sounds wasteful. after paying for a mm with jwong i realized all i did was pay for tips and tricks and his best advice was that i use to much meter.
and that supers suck in this game. and after watching him all i saw was tag cancels and ex’s. so yeah please base your sagat combos around
just ex’s and tag cancels. because his combo dmg is ass! AND FUCK THEM SUPERS!
