And another thing while I’m thinking about it: If you happen to use someone else’s stick, try and be mindful of how you use it. Avi had one of his buttons broken on his stick last night, and quite frankly, I’d be pissed if somebody broke something on my Byrdo. Just saying
I always let people use my stick under the assumption that if it breaks I break a finger.
Seems like a fair trade. Tiggy I would not let other people use the Byrdo I am just saying that thing is almost unreplaceable.
Is there gonna be MBAA side tourney at SB4, Tiggy?
HI orka :bgrin:
TBH I don’t think there’s gonna be side-anything until maybe Sunday, and that’s a big ass MAYBE. There’s already no guarantee of casual setups which makes me really sad. I’m not gonna lie to you and get your hopes up. I can only hope that we can get it, because I am totally lovin’ me sum MBAA right about now
Oop aww. MBAA is awesome tbh, lol. Probably the most fun FG I’ve played since AH2.
Oh well. I will probably be at SB4 anyway.
Well if so, we definitely gotta get some games in
FYI, my stick is fine. I don’t know why it wasn’t working for them but its working perfectly fine. But yes, I definitely agree. A lot or most of us are now playing on pretty similar hardware so it saves everyone a lot of time not switching controllers all the time but that means everyone has to treat other peoples stuff well. I’ve had buttons fail from certain strong button hitting in the past and sticks aren’t cheap. Not that I’ve seen people abusing sticks in this group but its worth mentioning.
Hey Tiggy, Lucky is planing on getting that room you could run a side tournament for a few people in there.
yep Im looking to get that set up this weekend. Still waiting on anyone else to pitch in. I am also waiting on them to confirm that KOF is a no go before I plan on running something for that.
Probably’ll be out there sometime at 7-8, not wearing a hoody for once. Looking forward to SF IV tonight, Tekken 6’ll be sweet. Really flipping coins right now if I want to make an asshole out of myself attempting to play DDR, lol.
ggs @ brents place guys! its all about ryu overhead -> super in tvc lol
im skippin out on gameworks tonight, just thought id mention that the new melty blood seems really cool. i might learn some shit in that game.
I’m not going to GW, and it’s not even the rain keeping me at home either.
Dandy, freaking game is evolving already. Sweep loops galore with the console charas :looney: I thought I was doing decently, but seems Japan and NYC are far ahead of the curve as usual. I gotta put in dat work
ok heres whats on the board today …please bring your own stick to my house …if you dont hace a 360 stick or a ps2 stick or what ever plenty of people can mod them i break enough of my own stuff i dont need any one else braking my shit ala my window (marcell cough cough**) also I am still working on maximising the space in my apt for the amount of people and set ups that need to be run any suggestions are very welcome. As far as SB4 goes there will be people from cincy staying at my place and mad casuals going on here all weekend so if you dont want to play MK3 in tim statics hotel room or buy cheap stick cases in lucky days feel free to drop bye to play
It’s kind of a bitch to unplug and replug controllers every time you switch players if that’s what is being implied. Especially on 360. I really don’t get the fuss over being afraid of people breaking things. I mean we’re all respectful of other peoples property I’d hope, so if they’re playing on your arcade stick respectfully and not beating it up on purpose and it breaks then fuck it. It would’ve broken on you too.
I mean if they’re jamming on it like an 8 year old who needs Ritalin that’s one thing. But I don’t really see that happening.
Of course if it’s your shit then you can do whatever you want with it, I’m just stating that I have no problem lending my stick out to people.
Well, um…last time I checked people can and will get sensitive over something that costs about $200+. Had I not bought my Byrdo from HeartNana it would’ve cost me about $300+ shipping. But I agree with the bit about it breaking on the owner as well as someone else if its being used properly.
As promised, I spent all of 1 minute searching for MB vids to show people what I was talking about.
The Maids:

Sion pressure. This is early MBAC before the PC ver, but the pressure still applies even to MBAA PS2/Arcade:

Case and point: Pressure in Melty Blood is serious business.
Avi: Good to hear. I guess my ecksbawks couldn’t handle the intensity of a VF5 SE.

When you unplug an XBOX controller you have to sign out the person first. If you just plug right in it’ll usually get stuck on a “Please re-insert controller” and it has to be the same controller. That’s why they don’t use 360s at EVO, it’s too much of a headache signing out every time you unplug a controller.
Also Tiggy, if someone broke something on your controller I doubt it would be a 200$ repair. I mean they’d have to snap your entire stick in half for it to be that big of a deal. Most likely a button would just go dead which would be a whopping $2.50 repair. I’m fairly sure there’s nothing a USER can do to break a PCB, so it’s not like they could ruin that. The most expensive repair they could cause is if they broke the joystick, and you could probably just replace the switch for a minimal cost if they broke a switch.
So short of throwing people’s sticks off of Brent’s roof I don’t say I can see what the worry is.
As I said, I always bring my own shit, I just don’t understand what all the commotion is about because I’d have no problems if one of my buttons died on someone. Like I said, if it died on them it would’ve died on you. If you don’t like how hard people play Marvel then tell them they can use it for any game except Marvel (since that’s basically the only game where people mash the hell out of a controller other than maybe mashable grabs in Street Fighter and the like). I’m just throwing out ideas. People can do whatever they please with their own sticks…
If anyone in C-bus is looking for a warm-up before SB4, see if you can’t make it out this way http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=201769
Actually, after dealing with this constantly at Games on Main, that’s not the problem. If you unplug the controller before you plug in the next one you don’t have to worry about the profile problems. Also I’m pretty sure the reason they didn’t use 360s at EVO because Sony provided the PS3s.
