Now that I’ve been helping Brent get his stream ready, I thought I’d mess around with my own quality too. We both stream at 380kbps, but it’s possible to get much better looking video without throwing picture quality out the window. My test is at http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/3697026, and my entire setup is described there. The sound setup could be yours for $45 at Radio Shack!
Brent, as for your framerate while using WebcamMax, all you have to do is go to Tools -> Options -> Source tab and set your Webcam Source Rate to 30. Get a sound mixer or a sound card that has Stereo Mix and you’re good to go.
