I’d like to thank everyone who showed up today for CSC Battles VI to participate and those who came to wach. Also, thanks to the people within our Columbia scene who helped me stay motivated to host due to obvious circumstances. No need to go any further. I really enjoyed the turnout we had, meeting new faces, positive feedback from players and hope that our next CSC Battles in late June/July will have more support.

I’ve also spoken with the staff at Maddness Gaming and their willing to let us use their venue for free casuals until they have their own equipment. Now this gives everyone a neutral place to meet at for mass casuals other than my house. I’ll also be recording Friday casuals there, so we can evaluate our play styles and get better.

There will be casuals at my house tomorrow after 6pm, for anyone who wants to watch Wrestlemania from last week.

@ Druseph: I think Arcana Heart 3 would have a much better turnout than Blazblue since more people will have access to AH3 and a lot of peeps are waiting for CS2.

What he was trying to say is one-button moves is only on lite mode controls. You can filter those players out online, so it doesn’t matter if you can do that stuff really.

I’m LOVIN my 3DS and SSF43D, and have found a config on pro controls that is working well for me. Unfortunately things like RSF are gonna be impossible either way, but I’ve been using Abel and getting the 1-frame links off just fine. It did take a ton of adjustment though, and my hands cramp up after a while. The dpad works great for me with all types of chars, and while the analog stick is great, and will be awesome for other genres, it’s def not for 2d fighters.

The main thing I can’t wait for is the inevitably amazing Nintendo games that will come out. Starfox 3D = geekgasm.

Something I was thinking of doing was trying to set jab and short to the touch screen so I could access all 6 buttons on the front but that’s not exactly optimal.

Only thing I don’t like about that setup is the lights being on the screen. They’re used to much and so much precision is needed with them and mediums (as opposed to heavys) that I’m almost tempted to emulate your configs, except having the touch buttons be fierce and roundhouse instead, leaving lab, strong, short and forward in the Type-A default positions. That way I don’t need to use the shoulders for anything since focus and throw are done with buttons. But this is all theoretical.

Ha. So the 3DS can tell when they’re online, what game they’re playing, etc. but you can’t invite people… well, here starts my wishlist of things they should change about the 3DS.

Well I suppose I could always look at my list when online to see who’s playing what…
