Columbia,SC:We Mashing Jab

so wait did byron or pat win? it says pat, but the brackets say byron…

Shit won. there was some issue that thomas is at fault 4…he still mad about Paramore being declared best band of this millenium, next to Nickleback…so he was directing his anger at poor ol Shit…

that aside, today was fun.

@Ben: …America

also thanks for the beating today

I wanna thank everyone for coming out to the tourney today and hangin’ out at my house afterward. Apparently I’ve got niggas plottin’ to troll me with bad anime while I’m sleeping XD I’m so glad to see that most of us have gotten better at SSFIV since our last tourney and I hope to see more new faces in the future.

For the next tournament, I’ll be changing the game entry free from $5 to $10 to make the pot bigger and put more on the line. Also, I’ll have all of the audio equipment ready for streaming beforehand. I ended up scrambling to buy an audio mixer that I couldn’t even use, lol. Our next event will be on December 18th and I hope to see more people there next time! Here will be the line up for the next tournament:

Super Street Fighter 4 Singles ($10)
Super Street Fighter 4 2v2: ($10) per team
Blazblue CS: ($5)
Tekken 6 ($5)

@ Sweeternity: LMAO@your new avy. Also, gg’s during our match today. Watching you and so many other peeps play Cammy made me wanna practice and get her tourney ready for next time.

@ Thomas: Thanks a bunch for helping me run the brackets and handle the streaming!

@ Darksylux: I’m all for random tourney vids, lol.

@Jag: Actually we were plotting about what movies to troll you with. And i never thought there was a subject that would get Pat so mad he’d throw his hat on the ground in disgust. Guess we all have our breaking points

@ Eskay: I’m mad I missed Pat throwing down his hat! Damn, you guys should have woke me up.

I actually saw Pat’s Hair. I couldn’t believe it.

I learned tonight that Google knows where M.Bison’s secret HQ is, but M.Bison doesn’t know where Google’s is. Sounds to me like we all know who Really controls the world, yadig?

Oh man i had butterfly in our match, my first tournament ever, dropping all links :frowning:

But yeah fun times man thanks for putting all this work in for all of us.

But I have to say I think $10 entry is a bad idea. That’s $15 total, and that’s not worth it for people who will 0-2 and out and I hope your goal is attract more people, not less. We need to get the stream on the front page, and get a little murmur around the USC campus I think. I know the prize pot today was disappointing but thats due to turn out, not the entry fee. That an no other tourney, and no team tourney.

Found a vid about what the Internet is truly

@ Sweeternity: I see where your coming from about attracting more people and my main reason for changing the pot amount is to actually do so. A lot of out-of-towners won’t necessarily wanna come to an out of state tournament, if the pot is not gonna be worth the drive (I was PM’d about it by several players from NC and GA). Also $10 is the standard entry fee for the main game(s) in most tournaments and $5 for other games. I understand no one wants to go 0-2 or lose money but it should motivate people to play harder for their victory.

I will take in your input on the entry fee for games and I’d also like to hear everyone else’s point of view on the matter. If the majority of the SC community wants me to leave it as is then I’ll keep it at that. I’m organizing these events mainly for you guys.

Alright Cola, so is it yay or nay for making the entry fee for main games $10?

yeah man its just my opinion, if people wanna pay $15 to play, I’ll do it too, thats cool. I’m just guessing here that the problem isn’t the entry fee, but the turn out, which can be fixed in other ways.

I know I’m new to you guys, but I fucking LOVE fighting games to death. I’m taking steps out of my house and want to see 50 people hyping it all up. It seemed to me though there’s a lot of confusion about what’s actually going on. All your sites said there was a kof tourney, but there wasnt. Not that it’s my thing but I definitely feel real bad for the 1 dude who signed up. And time wise the thing said 3, but we started earlier and things like that. You guys are fucking awesome, the sportsmanship today by every was fantastic. I just want us to explode and be a community people respect all around.

We got this, cola!

@ Sweeternity: The confusion between the SC Tourney blog and the actual SRK site is my fault. I actually adjusted the start times on SRK but not on the blog and I’ll be more cautious of that next time. Also, we did have a KOF setup for the tourney, but no one showed up :frowning:

With advertising, I plan on using the SCTourney blog, Facebook, SRK, Dustloop and Gamefaqs next time. I’ll also try finalizing everything, before I start posting about tournaments. I’ll be the first to admit that I make mistakes and forget to update a few things. I can also make a few flyers and pass them out @ USC, the next time I head out to Nashi.

Aw man I’m not saying any of this is your fault. You do everything, you’re taking it all one and making this happen. It’s the rest of this that needs to help, and more importantly give you input. It seems like everyone complains but no one gives their own thoughts. if you weren’t around, where would we be?

Nay for $10
