Looking at my match against that ryu:
- I ate jumping hk like it was a buffet. I guess I should anti-air(ex snake strike).
- I need to recognize what moves give you untechable knockdown and which don’t.
- Play against ryu one day.
- Is jumping hk ryu’s safe jump, right?
- I need to close out matches and not put myself in a disadvantage when I have the lead or momentum.
did y’all see anything I miss in that match?

Yeager, huh. Since I’ll assume you haven’t gotten too far, I’ll assume you fought him in the Rising City. That will mean that isn’t particularly far. But yes. Now that you’re getting more spells ( And should now have abilities to alternate spells to make STRONGER spells ) she’s just gonna get more powerful. It makes it worse that you don’t lose her at any point of the game.

@ Thomas: Daniel from Sumter is a pretty decent Ryu. Other than him, I can’t name anyone else who mains him.
@ Zerog: Most of the reason why some people are not playing KOF 2002UM is because it’s an old ass game. I still feel that once XIII comes out, that will change.
@ AwardTour: A couple of things about your match that would have help a great deal:
- Work on teching throws. He noticed you were weak on throw teching, so he took advantage of that the majority of the match.
- I noticed that you were going for tick throw setups during most of your combos, when you could have use those hit confirms for more viable damage punishers. So I’d recommend you maybe work on that a bit.
- During your focus parry’s, you always seem to move forward. That’s what also got you counter-hit a few times, so I would mix it up.

Oh and a dude named Marcus is has a really good ryu, he goes under the name DaUnkown in the forum.
Oh and just because something is old is not a reason to play in my opinion some of the older fighters are better than this generation.

- I’m scarred shitless of mashing dp. It is greater risk/reward for him . I need more confidence in the match-up aka get my Ricky Ortiz on.
- I had a brain fart on anti-air ryu. bad habit. I just have bad habits in this match-up becuase I never play it. also Rufus focus sucks anyway.

KOF 2002 was remade and new characters added and came out on late February last year, shortly before SF4? Not to mention that the game itself was not even released stateside until November 3 this year.

Anyways, I’m going in all the way, as woodrow would say on the tournament I wanted to put together. For those who don’t know, I’m planning on organizing a tournament. A big one. I wouldn’t want to say major, but my goal is to pull all of georgia/north carolina into a 60-100 man tournament if at all possible. It’s going to be a while aways since I’m going to pour my own money into it (Around $600 worth.)
Anyways, Before I can secure the venue I need to over some things with everyone. Which is why I hope you all show up at the tournament this weekend. I know it’s Thanksgiving, though. I plan on getting our Venue secured next month, and the place I’m looking at is the Columbia Convention Center, which is located on 1600 Lincoln Street in the Vista. It’ll be around $300 dollars to secure it for one day, and the internet there is servicable enough for a stream. Of course, I need to go over all this with them when I contact them. But before I can even do that, like I said, I need to discuss things with everyone.
Since it’ll take me some time to allocate all the money to put it together, it won’t be until september of next year, But if we want to have time to advertise and pull people into the tournament, we(I) need to act immediately. I’ve already put together a list of things I’ll need to get it together, and I’m going to make about 25 copies and handout to everyone on saturday to go over with everyone.
Like I said, I’m very serious about it, and there will be $100 bonus pot to first place in Super, possibly other games (Since Marvel 3, Arcana, and MK9 will be out by that time.)
I hope to see everyone on Saturday so I can get yall’s input.
@ guitalex: Regardless, the graphics are still a big deterrent from attracting new players and the fact that it looks like an old game doesn’t help either.
