I heard y’all were having a big practice session and this is last minute, but we’re having T6, BB, and SF4 tournaments on this Saturday (Dec 5th). $5 per tournament instead of the usual $10.
My Thoughts on the Ranbats: the games should be SF4 and Tekken 6. Street Fighter 4 is the big 2D fighting game and no one really play BB seriously besides Keyon and maybe like two other people. He would just win and put us in the corner for six different ranbats. nah yall can have that. SF4, SF4,SF4,SF4,SF4 did I say SF4. It is the stuff of champions, we all been playing it and it would be nice to drive down the street for competition than rather I-77, I-26, or I-20. Tekken 6 is big 3-D game that recently came out. I know yall saying its Tekken and Tekken bs or Tekken is for noob. Yall was wrong and I was wrong. Tekken is fucking harder to me than SF. SF just makes sense but Tekken not so much. I’m like what a oki game? When do I wake up? Why are there two med? Why are there some characters with counters and some don’t? Why is Tekken Zaibutsu ancient Greek? So a Tekken ranbat would just me at least with me playing the game more and leveling up my game.
ok, sorry about the rant but about the rules for the ranbat. standard rules for both games:
SF4:
double elim
all characters
2/3 rounds, 2/3 sets
losers/winners finals 2/3 rounds,3/5 rounds
grands finals 2/3 rounds, 4/7 rounds
winner keeps characters but loser can change character.
Tekken 6;
double elim
3/5 rounds, 2/3 sets
losers/winners final 3/5 rounds, 3/5 sets
grands finals 3/5 rounds, 4/7 rounds
all characters allow
random stage select
winner character stays and loser can change character.
Normal rules and yes Tak you can counter pick people.
The ranbat should be a point based system similar to the one use by AI or Denjin.
1st place: 10
2nd place: 7
3rd place: 5
4th place:3
5th place:2
7th place:1
We should do like 5 ranbats for this season.
Jan 2 1.1
Jan 23 1.2
Feb 6 1.3
Feb 20 1.4
March 6 1.5
The points at the end of the ranbat would be calculated and the top 3 will have the pot split 70/20/10 at the end of the ranbat. There would be two different point rankings for SF4 and Tekken 6 and two different pots. I’m thinking like a 5 dollar going to the pot for each game and like a two dollar venue fee.
Those are my thoughts on the ranbats on to other shit.

They going to have ps2 to 360 convertors so if anyone that plays pad coughdr.hatcough you can play SF4 or BB. Tekken 6 is on PS3 just to let yall know. I fucking going to get like last place in shit. BB should be ran if enough people want to play it. I agree that only two or three people in the state are contenders, but if enough people want to play that’s cool. Just make sure the games have their own point systems and not cumulative to the whole.

Hey guys. sorry i’ve been mia for the last few days. I had to go back to work this week and I’ve been soooooo tired.
I will update the sc tourney blog with all the new tourneys that have been announced recently tomorrow when I have a day off.
I’ll make a post about the Ranbats starting in January as well so we can start getting that word out.
Also, guys, I took pics of the location we are having the ranbats while Hi-Tekk and I were scoping it out. I’ll post those pics on the blog tomorrow as well so you can see what it looks like.
It’s a very, very good location IMO.
And if someone has a third TV to bring, we can probably do Blazblue as well to keep Cola’s blazblue community strong, but I agree that if we only have two games, it should be SF4 and Tekken 6.

Avatar, could you post about the Ranbats sooner on the SC blog since we would like to have our first one on Jan. 2nd? Also if we get any extra tv’s, I would like to add those for either the SF4 or Tekken setups since our BB community is smaller than our SF and Tekken communities.

First off lemme get this out of the way…Capcom can suck a deep fried cock for not using GGPO in SSF4. I can’t believe they have experience with it, and know how to implement it, but still won’t on SSF. I’d GLADLY wait an extra 6 months for GGPO integration.
So, who all is riding with me next weekend to Augusta? So far its just me, Xavier, and my boy Justin from Charleston in my car. I got room for 2 more. Rahjon, Dwaine, Rodney? Any takers? Also, I plan on hosting a major crack session the night before at my crib for those that are going. It will be all SF4, all night.
