i thought we both reached a consensus that big bang beat is going to be the only new doujin fighter worth playing. and maybe fuuka taisen… cus mai-hime is hot.
also, now i’m highly convinced that playing mbac severely hindered my general fighting game ability. i’m saying this now because i’m at a point where i actually feel like i’m getting back to my old groove in slash, and come to realize that part of the reason i’ve been doing shitty in that game for the past couple of months is because i shifted my focus heavily on melty blood for a while.
melty blood doesn’t only facilitate linear thought process and playing style… the game encourages it. the fact became glaringly apparent when i played both games last night for several hours.

God damn it! Have you ever tried to kill Number 128 with a level nine party? It’s fucking impossible! What fucking jackass thought up the idea of going through an RPG without leveling up? I’m so fucking boned, I might have to start over from my last save before I got into Vector. The only healing items I have left are three Elixirs. That’s it. No hi potions, no X-Potions, no Phoenix Downs. I mean I’ve got tents but it’s not like you can use them in battles or anything.
If I can just somehow deal 3300 damage to the main body before he kills all three of my party members (Locke does around 240 a turn and Edgar is doing almost 400, so it’s not out of the question) I’ll finally be out of the Magitek Research Facility and I can finally go back to the fucking Veldt. This game is seriously busting my balls.
edit: And WHY can’t you fucking pick Blitz’ targets? Sabin is the shittiest character in the history of video games!

That Mikado two-character ST tournament is pretty cool, it makes me wish we still had a place to run tournaments here and players to enter them 
Josh, since I think you were wondering (since you can’t read Japanese) it is in fact the same player for both characters. Also, it seems Mikado’s name for the format is “one-man two-on-two.” I guess that makes sense.
