It all boils down to lk x3 to fp dp is too good, BUT!!! a lot of chars in sf4 have links or combos that are comparable so no biggie i guess?
Andrew did u read that arturo thing? couple points from the interview: the game has “grooves” so u can play characters differently(cool). Clash system ??? (im curious). Biggest kicker was his comparison to GG and how the combos are straight forward and u don’t have to sit in training mode for half yer life to learn a char combo’s.(right-on-right-on)
I haven’t watched AH2 vids yet, so it could be much better, but to me AH has always looked like it was moving through molasses. Gameplay is pretty solid though, from what I remember so I can’t hate on it too much. There just aren’t any characters I like that I also enjoy playing
However, I’m sure I’d play it some if everyone else started to play it
I dunno, the combos in AH1 at least get kind of obtuse and weird in my experience. They may not be as hard to execute consistently as GG shit though I guess, I know I can do Heart’s IAD loop pretty much consistently and there’s tons of GG stuff I can’t do at all. I’m definitely no Arcana Heart expert at all though.
The game looks slow, but it’s got a lot going on at any given time so when you’re playing it it’s fast.
Also, by level cap I just meant the max level… Crystalis is one of those games where you hit it in the natural progression of the game, but you can gain levels early with the blob outside the first cave and the room full of whatever the fuck they are that you need the dolphin to get into. Compare that to oh shit there’s a new whip, time to spend seven hours building up hearts
Speaking of castlevania, the new one is a bitch. I’m not sure if I like or dislike the way they bumped up the difficulty. Essentially, everything hits for HELLLLAS, especially bosses. Most of them have discernable patterns after a few deaths, but they really don’t let you overlevel, you would have to do some crazy griding to meet up with a boss for the first time and be able to take more than 4-5 hits.
It’s kind of like playing an older castlevania honestly, yea you can use healing items and all that jazz, but since im stingy with that shit I have died a shitton.
Between that, Fallout 3, the 2nd episode of penny-arcade, and CT and P4 due out in the next month, im hella boned for time to play Gear. Plus i still havent got my american copy shipped back from tad goddamnit!
Current projected time of return to America: mid-December. The 14th at the earliest, but I want a few days in Tokyo before I go back so I can buy Christmas gifts for the family… we’ll see if I get them.
There’s a story behind it, it’s kind of interesting I guess but it also involves my family’s personal affairs and shit so I don’t want to put it out on the Internet. Remember to ask me when I get back.
AH and AH Full! have a console release. AH2 is out in arcades, and I’m unsure of AH2 Sugoi!. I think that’s also currently out. I have the console version if people are interested in playing.

I’ve got a flight back to the US booked for December 14th. Meaning, since there’s the international date line and everything, I’ll be getting back on December 14th. I’m sure my family is going to try to hog me the first day and I’ll be jetlagged as shit but I want to have a party to salve the kicked-out-of-the-country wounds. What’s everyone’s weekday work schedule like? Are we gonna have to wait for the weekend after that? That’s what I’m tentatively planning on.
Fun fact: So far I’ve played Guilty Gear either two or three times (I forget which) since the start of the semester. I may be doing my Christmas shopping in Kyoto so I might get one more opportunity to play before I go back. That’s under ten times since I got to Japan total, and five of those were in the first week. Kinda disappointing, but what can you do.
BTW I’m going to try to get these download karaoke services set up on my computer in advance so be forewarned you’re going to be subjected to my incredibly obnoxious singing voice

You know, Bridget’s cool as hell and everything but I’ve gotten kind of tired of looking at the exact same character for four years. My Millia’s never been very good so I figure if I can figure her out I’ll have ironed out some of my weaknesses.
