3 is a piece of shit. The control is fucking terrible for no reason and I don’t know if there’s another mainline Megaman (or hell even non-mainline) with the same kind of issues. The biggest problem (there are others) is that turning around takes a frame or two for no reason. I assume it’s a lot more than one frame otherwise you’d fire/slide in the wrong direction about as rarely as you get accidental backwards jumps in Castlevania 1. You didn’t notice it when the game was new, but go back, jump up and wiggle the d-pad left to right. It’s disgusting.
The game also started the bullshit with the bosses becoming damage races, especially Dark Man. They make up for that by throwing e-tanks and lives at you like crazy. Billy and I played that game for the first time in years on New Years and fucked up like mad… and still finished the game with 11 lives and 7 or 8 e-tanks, no continues. What the fuck is that?

Ok im gonna have to play around because i think the control in 3 is great, level design and bosses were awesome, and the “ruined” levels with the MM2 bosses were hot shit, i mean come on, that game is soooooo good.
I think 2 is the better game, but 3 is still my favorite.

Travis go mess around with it again. If you got into Mega Man 9 time attack it probably tightened up your inputs to where the game is now frustratingly shitty.
My other big beef: the subweapons you get from the bosses are all crap. This is a problem with basically every MM but 1, 2 4 which have semi-useful subweapons (or in the case of 2 the god tierest of god tier) and 9 where every weapon is completely broken, even Magma Bazooka has its (rare) moments. But in 3 it’s really bad. The weapons all cost hella to use, do worthless damage… they’re basically keys for the next boss. It’s fucking weak.
Hmm, yea i can agree with the boss weapons, they are pretty much some of the shittiest ones in the series. There were few exceptions where like gemini laser gets used to make climbing in one of the ruin levels easier (spark man ruins i think). Needle mans weapon isn’t half bad either considering it’s cheap, but yea after the mm2 weapons they are pretty weak and got a major tone down.
in fairness you do have the retardedly broken rush jet in that game, which makes up for it a bit.
Anyone else really torn about SF4 right now? Not the game itself but the system to buy it on. It looks like ps3 is the tourney standard, which i dont have, and am not getting for awhile. I really want that mad catz stick for it too, but whats the point of buying a 150 dollar stick if i cant use it during tourneys. I’m hella pissed about it.

Andrew - I think I’m going to buy TE sticks for both the PS3 and the 360. If that’s the case, then my HRAP 3 will go up for sale, so if you’re interested let me know. It’s barely used of course and I’d sell it at a discounted price, anything to take some of the pain away from getting two TE’s.
If you’re not into that, then your best bet on a converter for PS3 is probably the Pelican. They’re incredibly rare now, which is a problem, but there are other converters out there that apparently…“work”. Radio Shack carries a decent one from what I hear. The PS3’s firmware has been updated to support more converters with fewer problems, so by now the Radio Shack converter may be in the same league as the Pelican. Just FYI.
I think 9 replaced 3 in my top 3, so it’s @, 4, and 9 in no order. I played 3 to death and can one-life it without a problem. The end-of-game music is good and the MM2 robot masters are still cool because it was unexpected at the time, but that nostalgia buzz can only last for so long. 4 is also a joke, but I like the music more than 3 and it copies a good game (2), so I gotta give it that.

So I’m on the last part of persona 4, trying to debate what I want to play next. Also hoping P4 doesn’t leave me with an ending that made me feel shitty for 3 days like P3 did.
I kinda want to restart Nocturne again, just because i really like the SMT universe and i’ve never gone more than 8 hours into that game. But i kinda want to hit up one of my backlogged psx rpg’s too, like FF8. I’ve knocked on that game for years, but maybe i’ve played enough different rpgs now to appriciate the whole junction/card/mod/draw system.
Then again i kinda wanna check out Ar Tonelico II and Star Ocean 4 comes out in like a month… oh wait i’ll be spending a bajillion dollars on SF4 and probably a stick I don’t truly need.
