It’s definitely just the parries, my footsies are fine in ST (and would be in 3S if you could get away with predictability in that game). Actually I really think people don’t realize how much thoughtwork goes into the poking game in Guilty Gear, I think that’s one of the most common beginner’s pitfalls.

edit: Oh my god guys, I don’t know if this vid is old news but you need to see it… it’s called Innocent Starter, and it’s a Potemkin combo vid of all things. The last thirty seconds or so of this shit is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time.

What’s crazy is while almost all of the combos are totally impractical, those 100% tension combos after Potemkin Buster on Axl are completely legit and the only problem is if he has a burst… look at the fucking damage!

Yeah, that shit is hella old, I’d just never seen it before. Potemkin can’t connect far S after PB on Axl/May in Slash (thank god) so the most “useful” stuff in the vid… doesn’t work. I just think the downburst IK clash bullshit at the end is funny.
