I’m glad I got turned on to Accent Core - I’m really enjoying playing with Zappa. But I can feel my reflexes slowing with age. Maybe that’s why I’ve gravitated to 3D fighting games over the years.
Say, are people still playing Neo Geo Battle Colosseum? I picked that up cheap last weekend. It’s not too bad.
I’ll do that for him:woot: The graphics looked like ass on the cabs they put it in, all jagged and aliased. The animation is pretty damn fluid but I’m not really a fan of the new look. The new gill clone is fucking annoying to boot. I was hoping Ryu’s desperation super would be something cool but instead it’s just a second fireball super.
It’s a pretty solid game but doesn’t have much of a following (along with any SNK game really) here. Although if some of the Stl guysAaron, Steve, Robare in town we’ve been known to play it from time to time

I was driving up to Kansas City the other day…there was a big ass strip club with an arcade in it it said lol didn’t go in cause there is prolly a cover and i bet the only have like Big Mother Trucker and a half broke ms pac man…jw, has anyone ever been there? lol, what games do they have?
There’s an arcade in the mall called Aladin’s Castle that has Soul Calibur 3 and Tekkan 5. Unfortunately, I don’t know if a lot of people play there.
I saw a 3s machine sitting in the local Slackers, but it wasn’t running, so I don’t know what kind of condition it’s in.
is it just me or is soul calibur 4 really laggy on ps3? people who spam kilik claim to be good, rofl. tekken dr online seems so much better than sc4 online.
I’ve got friends on both networks, so I’ve been switching back and forth between the PS3 and 360 versions. I haven’t really seen a difference as far as network quality during fights. The 360 seems faster when it comes to matchmaking connections, though.
Certain characters definitely have an advantage online when you factor in the lag. I usually play Astaroth (and Ashlotte on occasion), so I’m doubly screwed. Amy or the Greek sisters can pretty much shut me down. It’s frustrating not being able to reliably sidestep, parry or block quick lows on reaction - I basically have to plan out all my actions half a second in advance, which makes a huge difference. Although Asta’s new stomp into air grab always puts a smile on my face.
Playing last night, the mix was about 1/3 Cervantes, 1/3 Killik, 1/3 Mitsu, and a sprinkling of Apprentice here and there. I did fight one really good Hilde; it’s cool to see people getting good with her so quickly. 4 bars on the ping meter is the absolute minimum for a decent fight; anything less and you can almost eat a sandwich in the time it takes for you to see action after a button press. It’s honestly better than I expected, but it takes some getting used to. The worst part is, when I’m playing locally I find myself having to unlearn all the habits I’ve adapted for playing online. More than once I’ve caught myself buffering parries a half second before I think they’ll hit.
