Nah, you’re pretty much boned, I won’t lie haha. Unless you’re out here for an extended period of time, you won’t get to meet the community and get games in with them. Short stays are kind of SOL =/.
In addition, the state as a whole right now is pretty lame for doing (gaming) things unless you play KoF or Marvel. Sorry buddy.
Yo, this is DancingFighterG. Hey Wrath of Abel, we have a SSF4 scene but with how Colorado is setup its hard to simply get matches with lots of people. We typically only see each other our monthly events. Gatherings do go on but most of them are private amongst friends. Cutthroat does host some public gatherings such as this one:
but again most of the gaming happens at monthly events.
Understood, thx guys. Yeah, in Socal, friends or not we still take visitors in. Heck, we even had Mago hang out with us when he was stuck in the US. As for KOF, we have the answer and bala in our sessions, but I don’t play the game which is a pity especially for having that talent around regularly. Maybe some other time.
It’s less of a problem of “taking people in”, we’re always happy for more people. It’s more of a lacking drive, hence the KoF guys are the only ones meeting on a weekly basis. Colorado Springs meets up once a week, usually for Marvel, but that may be a bit of a drive for you from Denver (an hour, hour + half). Even DFG’s crew gets together for some non-tournament action every now and then, usually 3D games.
There’s just no consistent gathering for most of the state/games. If there were, and hell I’d say stop on by for the KoF gathering though you don’t play, they would love to have you or anyone else. I just wanna make sure that doesn’t get conveyed that we’re unfriendly. 
Just most of them are overall lacking in drive haha.

How big is SSF4 in Springs? I’d totally drive up if there are some players.
While, ironically, one of the top players in Colorado is down there, I don’t think the rest of them play very seriously. Springs is pretty much 95% Marvel, but they will play some SSF4 if you go to one of their chamber events.
On the other hand, there’s going to be a casual games gathering near Denver (in Littleton) this weekend. So that’d be the time to get some games of SSF4 in, if interested.
The short of it: Starts at 6PM, Saturday July 28. $5 venue. Assuming it will go until around midnight/1AM, but I think this is a pretty safe assumption with how late any event goes in this place.

Haven’t been up since I broke my ankle early this year, but they had MVC2, 3s, CVS2, Soul Cali 2, KOF XI, MVC, SSF4 Vanilla(might be Mahvel 3 by now) and handful of others.
They’ve sold quite a bit of their fighting game machines, unfortunately, but last time I went there (couple months ago) they had: 3s. CvS2, Soul Cal 2, MvC2, SFA3, GGXX (I forgot which version exactly), SSF4, and Tekken 5: DR.

CutthroatCon will be over a few days. If you want to do both KoF and SSF4, you’ll have to come both Friday (KoF) and Saturday (SSF4), but I linked you to the schedule. The Arena will be all done in a day and will probably be a lot cheaper, and more fun IMO, for a first timer in the community.

Heya, I am in from Portland Oregon, essentially the Best Bout crew. I’m staying in Boulder for a week and looking to get some games in with the local group. Mainly a SSF4 player. Any casuals happening during the week?
Cutthroat Con was a shit show, Marvel was supposed to start at noon. At noon they kicked everyone off casuals and I think the first match was an hour later and some people didn’t play there first match until 90 minutes later. I had fun meeting people and playing street fighter but come on make a fucking bracket and play.
