Anyone in shoryuken a professional repair of ColecoVision super action joysticks? I’m looking to send 6 at one time to get repaired for me and my two other Coleco-owning friends.
deep coleco tech talk.
I know the most common problem are buttons being too dirty to actuate, and they require a VERY deep cleaning.
One stick has a problem of Northwest not working. I’ve taken these apat before, and saw an eight prong Daisy wheel set that holds the actuators.
Interesting to note that each direction is a separate actuator.
do Super Action games take advantage of that and allow you to tween between any two actuators to turn it into a 16 way joystick?
Do you think that might be a partial reason of incompatibility with certain games not forwardly compatible with the super action sticks, the 2 big culprits are Qbert’s Qubes and Activision Decathlon?
Hopefully by the end of the year I’ll try Edladdin’s Coleco Fight Stick PCB.
And should I assume I could Y-connect a Real controller for the speed wheel and the keypad, and the joystick and button functions be taken care of by the fight stick?
