I believe that the level 3 FA, Ex Rocks will also hit Sagat if he’s got hit with the focus attack while crouching.
Yes sir. Thats a yuge combo off landing a jab. The c.lp cl.mp link isn’t even that difficult, it “feels” pretty natural.
I tried the “new” knife the last couple of days… it is really good. Your opponent has to be extremely careful. The jabs are so fast and have an insane priority. AA cr.fierce is fantastic. Your enemy makes one mistake and the half of his lifebar is missing
I really really like it ^^
nj.mp is even better now. imo the best neutral jump a2a option, which also beats air normal- and command throws due to its very good hitbox.
still waiting for that info
I’ve kind of stopped playing games altogether but I’ll tell you what it was anyway. It’s simply Cody is able to do TWO close normals after a CU FADC forward due to a slight increase in his forward dash length.
So now off a random c.LK -> CU you can FADC and land s/c.LP -> cl.MP-> c.HP xx for nice damage. Sorry for the late reply. Probably won’t be replying much anymore though. I’ll still check the forums though.
Oh really Packz? What a shame
Damn bro sorry to hear that. Thanks for all your videos and the knowledge you’ve shared with scrubs like myself.
Hope all is well.
Quick question. In 2012, how safe is lp CU now? does anyone have the frame data?
same (-5)
Could you clarify? What combo are you referring to?
I’ve been out of the loop since like September/October with AE, so I’m playing catch up on v.2012.
I’ve skimmed the thread but didn’t find much. Can someone give me a run down of the undocumented changes for Cody?
read the first post…?
upcoming patch:
yay.
Wonder if fa lvl 3 > ex rocks, cl.hp, cr.hp xx hp cu will work on sagat. His hitbox is kinda like Seth’s.
Man, been playing a bunch of Cody recently. Both on SF4 and Alpha.
Few things I noticed:
In Alpha, his knife falls MUCH faster and MUCH closer.
The biggest problem with using the knife has still not been addressed. In SF4, Cody cannot special cancel any of his knife attacks. In Alpha he can. That extra range becomes a lot more important and effective of a tool when you can cancel it into RK or CU. That one change alone might actually make the risk of picking up the knife worth it.
The knife throw is terrible. It gives a techable knockdown sure, but it loses to any fireball, and players can simply mash jab or a normal with a good hitox to beat it (like Makoto’s s.MP) since it loses to physical attacks. It is +7 on block sure, but it also has a 26F startup and 45F recovery putting its recovery on par with Ryu’s Hadouken but giving it 2x the startup (Hado is only 13F) I really wish that Cody’s knife throw was like 20F start up with armor break properties given the difficulty of using the move (one time use, loses to a ton of stuff, requires preparation, slow startup)
Yeah, it’s hard to implement the knife to your game. It’s strengths are obviously the much better pokes and the 3 frame chainable lp, which is amazing on matchups like Abel. But for the matchups where you need better pokes, I feel the loss of rocks and buffering mk ruffian are too big of a deal.
So with the 2012 patch finally released on the PC I did a little test to see how much they buffed cody’s forward movement speed. And it seems like it has been increased with about a 8%. Correct me if I’m wrong and all that, but i think i did this quite accurate.
