how do your fingers feel when playing during winter season lol
How much is a case?
From what I am told it is looking to be > $160
Pricing is not finalized yet, when we originally started the estimate was a retail price of 150, now that Mr. Tran has produced a few, he has determined that his efforts are not covered at that rate.
Now it is looking like 175 for a bare silver case and 190 for an anodized one (these are the prices for a direct order from nhtran when he becomes eligible to sell.)
The cases on my website will probably stick to around 175 for bare and anodized both. It’s undecided so far whether that price will include free shipping or not.
Here are the details:
We will be starting with a stock of 10 black, 5 bare, and 5 blue cases. I am going to see about getting a set of the red as well, if that is possible.
All of the cases are 8 button Vewlix arrangements.
Name: Vanessa P.
Email Address: ryuniiyama@gmail.com
Color: Black
Button Configuration: Vewlix
Joystick Type: Sanwa
Put me down for 1 but payday isn’t till the 31. I will purchase though.
Edit: Just noticed I didn’t spell vewlix correctly
NHTRAN328 actually can’t sell until August 28, 2009.
August 1 to be exact according to the mod.
Valaris say has to be exact from Join Date though.
Did something change?
Well good stuff you have anyways.
If Valaris or Fir said you can sell, then it’s cool.
Or did you talk to MrWizard?
Hey guys, I have an aluminum CNC case from nhtran. I met the guy when i picked up the case and hes a super nice guy.
I must say, it looks and feels incredible. The case built is very secured with screws on the corners and the midpoint of the case. The edges are all rounded and smoothed off as he said it would be. The screws is also provided for the joystick mount and neutrik’s adapter if you requested to have one.
Wiring the stick is easy enough since i asked akuma001 for soldering service from the 360 pcb to the cthulhu (thanks Akuma001!!!) All i really need to wire up is the buttons to the cthulhu, although my wiring isn’t all that nice but it’ll do for me =). Oh…for all the people who is asking if there’s room for dual mod, I say there’s plenty for 2 pcbs.
The only thing I got a problem is that I have neutrik’s rj45 adapter, my GC and psx cables have neutrik’s rj45 boot. I screwed the adapter along with the front plate. I plugged it in okay, but it wasn’t enough for the button to release the boot out of the adapter. So i had to take out the front plate and screw it on as it is. (oops, i forgot to take a pic of that)
I played on the case and it feels comfortable on table and even in my lap. It is heavy for it to stay in place and that is a plus.
Overall, All i can say is i was amazed with this case and meeting with nhtran. Totally satisfied with it. And now i just need an artwork for it.
Parts:
-seimitsus clears
-ls-56 with bubble ball
-dual mod with the rj45 mod.
Edit: its my phone’s camera. I hope you guys don’t mind =/.
Drove from Oakland to San Jose. :wow:
Very nice Case though.
Do you like the feel of metal?
yes i do. I’d actually have 2 metal cases from finkle before. Thats probably why I like metal cases. =)
Pics of another fully assembles stick
Well I actually met NHTRAN at his house and saw the prototype cases in person, liked the heft of it and asked for two of them when he got around to making them.
Well I just picked my cases up Wednesday and have been working on getting one of these ready for a Local Tourney.
The Blue stick has a LS-56-01 with an MS mounting plate and all Seimitsu Buttons.
The black and Red stick has a JLF and Sanwa OSBCs. Seimitsu clear 24mm on top.
Doing a Dual mod Multiconsole setup on both. Black and Red not finished yet.
Used that cable hole for the mic port extension for Xbox 360. Plugged 4th kick since that is where my pinky rests, but kept 4th Punch in Anticipation of KOF 12.

Didn’t have time to use the sleeving I bought to the left, just got it to work for now.

Rubber Feet where easy to add. Just needed to buy them and 6-32 1/2" screws since the screws that came with it are a little too short to add feet.

Used zip tie mounts with a sheet of scrap acrylic to secure the PCBs

Still need to put art and clean up the wiring before I post in the Custom Stick Gallery. If you want to see the album of like 60 pictures I took during the building process you can go here:

After I’m done building these two sticks I think I am done with stick buidling for a while. I feel it will be impossible for me to make anything better. The stick assembled weighs I’m guessing 10-15 lbs.
Waiting on some wallpaper to arrive and put in the stick. The neutrik adaptor does sit inside a little deep with the rj-45, but i’ve never had problems removing my cables since I use regular boots from Fry’s electronics.
Also I like the top metal plate. It is halfway counter sunk so the top acrylic falls into the groove made for it. It will help make sure the art stays inside as you put the acrylic on.
Really sexy.
Blue color looks so super good.
AGREED:lovin:
That blue one would make totaly awesome Blazblue stick
Now i only need to win national lottery to get one
Updated Case
Cleaned up the wiring.

My “Washi” paper came in the mail. Love how the gold in the picture shines at the right angle.

Still waiting for my PS-14-KN blues to come in along with my Dark Blue Meshball. Going to swap the clear plugers for the Clear Blue Rims.
Now the Black stick.
Also bought some wood contact paper from a Daiso along time ago. Ironic that all the trouble done to procure a metal stick, then put fake wood paneling on it. LOL. Reminds me of my Atari 2600. Stick isn’t wired yet but is how it will look when finished.

Update:
Did an LED on activation Mod on my Blue stick. Installed Blue PS-14-KN but swapped the clear plungers.

God damn, they look ridiculously nice.
I just wish it was at a price point I could afford at the moment.
Absolutely beautiful.
I really hope these pick up, and more people buy them, these are too pretty to not be in circulation!
Hey guys, I got a case from Nam also thru another forum and it’s definitely a well made piece.
A lot of heft to it and very well made, no burrs or roughness on any of the edges. The anodization seems well done also, I have seen some that are super sensitive to scratching and this feels like it will hold up.
I’m still waiting on some parts so it’ll probably be a few weeks before I can post finished pics unfortunately.
Just finished the Black one a few days ago.
