So laggy online play has left me no choice: I need offline console SF IV competition to continue training for Evolution so I am throwing my pad open to the unwashed masses aka anyone in the LA area who wants to get some serious gaming in this weekend.
I am located in a small apartment (hence the name of the thread) right by Sunset and Normandie so anyone in the Hollywood/Echo Park/Downtown and surrounding LA areas that finds they never have the time to make it all the way to AI or Family Fun or Denjin…you’re probably pretty close by to me. I’m also right near Family Arcade on Vermont so any of those regulars are welcome, I will probably recognize you.
The plan is for SFIV to be running on one television while any other fighter (or tetris attack or whatever) can run on the second tv. I’d love to get some Sam Shodown 4, Kof 94 Rebout or SF Alpha 2 at some point.
I’ve got a bunch of sticks but feel free to bring your own.
Soda, beer, and food will be provided free of charge.
Like I said, the only catch is that this place, while all my own, is definitely on the small side so to start out I need to cap the number of people (not including myself) at 5 at a time. People I’ve met before (voltech, dbostick, sweetjohnnyv, etc) will be exempt from this.
Gaming sessions will **start at 12 noon on Friday (5/22) **and run until whenever, and then on Saturday (5/23) from 12 noon until 6pm. If there is interest we can keep going through Monday etc.
Post up in this thread if you want to come and/or contact me on aim or psn. Maybe we can entice Combofiend to stop by, as I know he lives around here somewhere.
P.S. I’m a hick from North Carolina and I own a shotgun.
sounds so tempting… why cant I have reliable transportation Can I get a carpool from San Pedro? I’m quiet and inoffensive, I won’t steal or break anything, I wont eat up all your food… I just wanna play real people, not internet people
Yes, thanks for bringing this up. Parking shouldn’t be a problem during the day Friday or Saturday. There is street parking in the neighborhood behind the Shakey’s on Sunset and Kingsley. Delongpre or Harvard are your best bets, as is Fountain or Kingsley north of Sunset. Just don’t park in Shakey’s lot, as they tow.
I live right in the neighborhood so I can stop by on friday and saturday. Also I got a Sega Saturn with some great fighters so I could bring that along too.
I know I’m a nobody here at SRK but would it be cool if I showed up tomorrow? Just looking for some good games. Plus you live a stones throw away from the arclight theater so it’d be hella convenient to get some sf4 in before I saw terminator 4.
I’ll probably end up walking there. I live closer to the Target on Santa Monica and La Brea, so a mile and a half is really nothing to me (and since my car doesn’t have a front license plate, I don’t want to risk some rent-a-cop ticketing me for that - yes, it happens).
