GameInformer is terrible. Magazines don’t even know what good games are this gen. The guys behind BC have been working on it forever and the swing mechanic is awesome, so I’m crazy pumped to play it Tues. I think it’ll be really fun; I never expected it to get 80-100 scores though, just doesn’t seem like a game fasioned to get review scores like RE5 was. lol they complain about it being linear??? I don’t see Gears/RE5/CoD get nailed for that, it’s just accepted.

I don;t know Jinmaster personally but know he’s flaked regarding all kinds of events, specifically Tekken/DoA stuff. I was at a Final Round where he was supposed to run DoA and bring allll the hardware himself and I don’t think he even called when he didn’t show up. I don’t remember his excuse but man you can’t get yourself in a position like that. I know rumblings of other stuff but that’s all I;ve seen w/ my own eyes.
Plus his OP is still really goofy and doesn’t inspire me with any confidence. Plus anyone who puts plans a “big” tournament with VF on the lineup and not games tons of people in his city let alone state play is lose. And then to insult them all by saying “They’re old, move on” on top of it. You don’t plan an event and have no idea WTF people actually want for it. Dude is just off in his own dimension. No, lots of people know Jinmaster. He’s just flaky and weird and a lot of people nationally know his rep. I also like how he said something like “I’m gonna give Columbus the best tournament it’s ever seen” which is funny in itself but had the contradictory it’s not a major". Something just off about that dude. I wonder what STAR PLAYERS he has on the slate. I would think they would post to support him if that were the case.
Attempting to have a big event that close to MWC is weird too if you actually are expecting an event Midwest people will travel to.
All the people in Ohio think Mike is retarded, He just might be the biggest dick I have ever met in my life. He has no idea how to talk to people at all and just no idea on a lot of things. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to come to his tournament. I and some of the other columbus guys will be there and we are very different from mike. If you do decide to come we will make sure mike does not destroy your time with lame.
last time I spoke with him he said his May was super busy but starting in June he was going to start back up with a monthly tournament. Don’t know if thats still the plan or not but that’s the last I heard.
Paladin might wanna get at that bigcitytourney guy, Paul, who sounds like he also wants to do monthlies too, which I think would be awesome once a new venue gets picked. I mean it sucks for him that his sportsbar got closed, but he’s taking everyone basically saying to regroup totally the wrong way.

That Paladin guy you all are talking about is my friend Jon. He’s enthusiastic about running tourneys, but I think the problems are:
Enough people don’t know him, so he doesn’t have a lot of credibility
He doesn’t have enough people to help him with planning/running events, and I’d help but I don’t have the knowledge (YET)
But I can vouch for him. He means well, but just needs extra help is all. Plus, I haven’t heard from him either, we’re kinda out of touch and both pretty busy.
Yeah he’s cool, I helped him do one or two. I’d be glad to help again, and I know you wanted to be involved too.
Man that bigcitydude is pissy as fuck that no one likes Hooters and is bailing on the change. It’s like, dude, just fricking reschedule already, why have a crappy event and have your name attached to it when you could just regroup and get your ducks all lined up. He thinks just cos only like two people are still posting and giving advice that everyone else thinks it’s a great idea I guess. No one wants to sit on a bar stool playing SFIV and TvC on ceiling mounted TVs for hours.
The tournament he ran at ITT he said he did not feel enough people came so he made it free and still handed out trophy’s and prizes to the winners. That is class all the way. Plus he has fighting game experience unlike the big city guy.
