Cold Fusion is hosting a Street fighter IV & UFC Undisputed 09 Tournament on Nov. 7th out in mentor-on-the-lake, ohio…about 20/30 min outside of cleveland. its a really sick setup! This is our first time holding a SF IV or a Undisputed tournament so we want all your feedback on rules or whatever…lets us know what you want! Thanks hope to see you guys there!

Venue Fee: $5 if you pre-register - $10 dont pre-register. Pre-register deadline is Nov. 4th.
Payouts For Both Tournaments:
1st - 70%
2nd - 20%
3rd - 10%
Street Fighter IV Rules & Settings
Double Elimination. Each match is best of 3 games. Each game is best of 3 rounds. Losers of each round may change their character but the winners must stay the same. Controllers, fightpads and arcade sticks are all legal.
UFC Undisputed 2009
Double Elimination. Eatch match is best of 3 games. All weight classes are in play.
Fight time: 3, 5 minute rounds.
Characters: UFC Roster
Weight Classes: Each opponent will pick their respective weight class to play in. Each player can chose their own weight class to play in but if they are not the same, then a ref will pick a random weight class for game 3. Example - Player A picked Light Weight in game 1. Player B picked Heavy Weight in game 2. They were tied 1-1 so the ref will pick a random weight class for them to play in game 3 to play and end the match.
What’s up with the $$? $15 or $20 entry for a 40/20 pot?
Most tournies just do a $5 venue fee + $10/game, 70/20/10 split – any chance of that happening? I dunno how many people you’ll get for a $20 UFC tourney.
Playstation 3’s are preferable btw for SFIV tournies you guys do in the future cos of controller issues (360 syncing + many PSX sticks = Playstation 3’s)
Yea we could probably try a venue fee. I see thats how alot of tournaments do it. - check it out @ www.coldfusionlc.com - the store only has 1 ps3 while we have quite a few 360’s though. so for the first tournament were gonna try it on the 360. If its popular enough we can definitely make the switch.

FYI dunno if you guys saw, but we just had a tourney at the Twinsburg library that was 36 man! It was $5 entry for both venue and pot, with 1st getting $100 and 2nd/3rd getting like $15 or $20. That was nontraditional too, but the small entry brought in a lot of people. Just letting you know of an alternate prize structure that worked pretty well if you aren’t looking to do the standard 70/20/10, $5 + $10 thing.
It was actually $100, $50, and $25. Apparently the guys barely broke even, though I’m not sure if it’s because of the payouts or the turnout or what. I’m not really knowledgeable about running tournaments, unfortunately.
That’s why most tournaments have a venue fee and an entry fee. It ensures (depending on the turnout) that the organizers break even and does not detract away from the pot.
I might show up for sf4…I have no idea what to expect, though. Theres not much of a fighting game scene at all around canton. I just really cant find anybody else to play
