Don’t feel like you have been playing a lot of out of city competition? Well City Meet Ups aims to change that. A City Meet Up is essentially a get together between the players from the different cities in Texas. It will rotate mostly between the major cities, being Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and *Kileen. They will be held at the various venues within a given city.
28 setups, leather couches, projection screen, broadband streaming, pizza joint to its right, and hooka bar to its left.
$10 venue fee for the whole day! (normally $3.50 per hour, only charge when you are actually playing)
the following weekend, we are kicking off UCC 1st tourney for the next season featuring: MvC3, SSFIV, and MK.

I really like this idea. The best part about any of the Texas tournaments I’ve been to is always the casuals and MMs IMO. This will be so sweet, a full day of casuals with different crews and a shit ton of setups that won’t be taken up by any tourneys going on. :bgrin:

Killeen has our venue, which is Proving Grounds, some of you have already been there for our last tourney. Jan keep Rotendo/Rodolfo and I up to date about this
Yes you have to drive outside of your city to play other people. The benefit though is that everyone else will do the same thing so you can play people from different cities regularly. And then there is always the month when the meet up is held in your city and you don’t have to travel anywhere!

We may not have any arcades here in Dallas but we do have FC and we will have other places. Once I move into the new place we’re trying to get setup, we can definitely host games there for any out of towners who want to come out and support the scene so I’m down for sure. This is honestly what is truly needed for us to develop into better players overall.
This is a great idea! Ppl from other cities should arrange traveling plans and try to carpool to the city of the month meet. It’s probably a good idea to schedule the meet day when there’s no tourneys going on in other cities. Cus chances are ppl would rather stay in their city than travel. Just a thought. I like that is a 3 day weekend thing. Since I’m usually only available Fridays and I’m sure other ppl are only available some of those days.
Just a thought: the first post can be updated with ppl from out of town who are planning to travel to the city of the month. With info like 3 ppl in one car 2 seats available for ppl who want to go. And they can all just pitch in for gas since it’s like 10000 bucks a gallon right now. Bit yeah. Just a thought.
