Cincinnati OH, Dayton OH, and Northern Kentucky: I have the best Wesker!

I still say we should have stacked the teams from the get go: Derrick, Adam, Ameer, Voulkan and Perfect Legend on the same team.

It may suck but it’s the only fair way to do it.

I already said this to Nathan but I don’t really think the wildcard team is a bad idea. However, it IS a last minute addition and maybe everyone would be okay with it if it had been planned from the start. I think it should be in next year’s lineup if there’s an event like that again, or maybe just let Keits run Team Wisconsin and end up making a hybrid team because he wouldn’t come with any other Wisconsin people :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s nobody coming to this tournament that’s an absolute killer that would be on Team Wildcard. I couldn’t even qualify to be on Team Ohio so what are you fools so scared of? It doesn’t even add anything negative to the event and it makes an unknown randomness, which is fun and exciting instead of the boring usual shit. What’s the big deal about Team Wildcard? So what if they didn’t have to qualify. Team IL didn’t go to AL to qualify, they are hand-picked players (if it works out). Did team IN go to AL to qualify? Nope. Hand-picked. So I think the deeper issue that lies within is that Adam Sandler’s voice SOMEBODYS SCAREDDDD.

Sup?

Frank, I don;t think anyone is scared, they just don’t think it’s fair to see people get a free pass into an event they worked to get into. I would have liked to play but this is their event so if they want to keep it as it is I think it’s cool. I think it’s a really cool idea but it would have been better if it’d come up like a month ago.

Frank , Indiana had their own qualifiers , as did Michigan and Ohio. Osirun left it up to a rep of each state to decide if they want hand picked or to have a qualifier , chicago just decided to be hand picked from the rep of said state.

I was just talking shit. It’s not that serious. Hopefully everyone has a good time.

Now that I’ve read Osirun’s post about the Team Wildkeits, I’ve realized there wasn’t even a vote and it was just a couple of people crying about it. I guess it is that serious. Sigh. LOL I guess I need to learn how to read the forums before I say anything.

Now that I’ve done some ‘homework’ here’s my opinion on this matter.

On Osirun’s OP from PowerUp, it says the names of the teams who qualified but it also says (subject to change). This is a good change. It does nothing to affect the event in a negative way. So it’s another team? So what? Is it really that difficult to add another team? Just make it 8 teams total and do double elimination bracket. Simple. Or better yet, make it single elimination and 8 teams. It wouldn’t be that hard to find 10 other players to make up 2 random teams to fill the bracket out. Especially if the players are willing to pay an entry fee to get into said tournament and sweeten the pot. I mean hell 3 more teams at $10 per person or even $5 per person (although all of the quals for each state were FREE) really makes it nice. That’s extra $$ in the pot. That’s pretty nice for a FREE event. Why wouldn’t you want to do that? A little randomness doesn’t hurt. People want to see that sort of thing. Not the same old crap over and over.

There was no vote cast about the matter. A couple of people expressed an opinion. Wow. Obviously Nathan was interested in this possibility and wanted the players opinions. 5 people making positive and negatives comments constitutes a final decision being made? Players PM’ing the tournament organizer to discuss things in a private matter solves the problem? Nope. It’s a public venue to express your feelings. Not to go behind the players and talk to the TO about things that NEED to be discussed in an open forum. I think you should cast the vote at PowerUp and let the players right then and there decide on this matter. You’d be surprised at the outcome of that vote. It wasn’t fair to everyone that the decision was made based off of a couple of people who didn’t like it because they felt the team would be stacked. All of the negative feedback about this leads to that. Which is why I made my comment in the above post.

I know you held qualifiers for the event. But they were FREE. If you wanted to lock the teams into place, then you should have charged for that or stipulated in the OP for the tournament. This is supposed to be a fun event and everyone on here is taking it way too seriously.

The event regardless of 5 teams or 8 teams is going to take a long time to complete. Give the people a good show.

That is all.

Keith: If you are coming tomorrow can you bring King of Fighters 98 UM? Need to get some practice in.

Peeee-Ewwww 2010… here we come.

pP

Everybody = youmad.jpg

So basically you’re saying the other 5 are shitty? LOL.

Regarding the 5v5 and extra teams in general.

This.

From the PU thread:
Hey, I’m sick now, dunno if its allergies or what. I’m gonna pump my body full of meds and see how I feel tomorrow but coming down for casuals tonight is not likely.

Those of you who planned on riding with me if you’d like to go down tonight I’d get in touch with some other people. I MAY still come down, but right now I’m gonna get some sleep and see how I feel.

Tekken 7.

Already.

Diego: Yeah, I saw that shit over on TZ. I was thinking myself that this shit was 2 early 2 be announced, but hey, I’m never gonna complain about new Tekken games coming out nowhere.

See everyone 2nite & Sunday @ PU.

Take it easy & have a good one. Peace. :china:

That is what I was thinking lol. Your “Dream Team” is kaput, but I can understand your thinking. Let me reassure you that I can beat wholesale ass, and plan to. It is now our responsibility as an arcade to support both teams fully and get all cancerous thoughts like “should have done this”, or “if only the teams had been this way” out of our minds. Just focus and fight these guys. None of us want the little voices in the back of our heads telling us that we weren’t good enough to qualify for this team while we are fighting, get what I am saying? :\

I want both of the teams to do well and to at least beat Indy. I think we have the manpower to do that. Good luck guys.

While we have rivalries and some players are better than others, as a region we have to represent regardless who it is that’s doing the representing and we should be attempting to do as much as possible to help everyone get better and to expose weaknesses so we can overcome them and grow as a community.

Heres to one of the ohio teams taking the gold!

It was just announced. Didn’t they announced T6 in 05 then it dropped in arcades in what 07? It didn’t hit consoles til last year. lol

For those of you who didn’t make it out tonight, I thought some of you’d like to know (mainly Adam) that I just got the 3S board in! It just fell into my lap a couple days ago and the dude was kind enough to get it to me in time for PowerUp. It is indeed the version with unblockables so no worries there. See you guys tomorrow

Very nice Jesse, I’m bringing my VSav board up tommorow in the event I can’t hoard the 18-1 cause of the A3 tourney =x

I have my own VSav (yes VSav 1 not 2) pcb as well as the 18-in-1 so no need really. There will be tournaments on the cab until the evening but I’m sure we can get some Vampire Savior on there at some point.
