Cincinnati OH, Dayton OH, and Northern Kentucky: I have the best Wesker!

hey sluch where you goin out drinkin tonight me and my doode tom are talkin about goin out for a lil dunno if he has anywhere in mind but at least seein whats up with you/everyone else.

anyone else goin out hit me up ok

For everyone goin and not going t MWC I propose a GROUP training session. IN the next couple WEEKS. I mean an ALL DAY session of nothing but practice who would be interested?

Where we critique each others game , so if we do this everyone needs to put their pride off to the side.

I feel if I critique people’s games they typically get mad/frustrated/annoyed and don’t take it to heart. I mean I offer advice, which is usually different, but I can’t sit there and tell somebody “you’re wrong” and not expect backlash. Not that I am always right or anything. It also annoys me too when I tell people what they are doing wrong or when they are falling into a pattern and they stay in the pattern.

Still up for playing though.

are they even playing reg 4 at mwc. either way id be down for a day of gaming any idea when/where yet

No they will have Super, first major with Super in it I think. Doesn’t bother me much though, don’t expect to win anything, but MWC was a fun time last year.

I’ve been wanting someone to sit down and critique me on my gameplay for a while now, but I’m either not there or not playing games. So a gameDAY where we’re just sitting around and actively helping each other sounds like a good plan to me.

I’m definitely down for this.

Also, I’ve gotten good response for my MWC request. Already six people interested, and four already think they have time and can pay to go. So, for now, I’m gonna let it chill, see what happens with schedules, and not accept any more answers to the request. I wish I had a bigger vehicle so I could take more people : (

On that note, though, if anyone else would want to drive out with one other person (for a total of six in the hotel room) I’d be more than willing to split the hotel room in sixths (but no more!). If three people ride in each car we could then take 1-2 of my smaller CRTs for discounts. Gas per car would be split among the three people per car, and with the lower hotel rate from splitting in sixths the overall total would be about the same $90, or possibly a little less.

I realize this is asking a lot, but it’s just an idea, since six people already responded to me.

whats up folks, I will be in wilmington ohio next week for a few days. I know its only about an hourish from cincy, are there any marvel heads in this area? I’ll play most games but mvc2 is my main.

I play a lil sf4 on the side as well.

I’d play you but I’m broke and stranded in Dayton. If you go to the arcade in Fairfield you would run into Derrick and a small chance running into Matt and Richard. Those 3 rarely post here too. Thats all you are getting around here marvel wise.

I’m totally down for a hyperbolic time chamber training session where we tear each other apart, I need it badly. I just need exp in a lot of different matchups really.

I might be up for driving if I’m still going, but I’d def be up for a training session at least. I’m on spring break next week so we could have it at my house with just like 6 of us or whatever.

I agree adam , It’s just you can’t expect them to just up and stop falling into it. You can warn them about it and try to get them used to seeing it and to try to condition them to see it. But, that’s one of those experience things ya know?

Yeah, people get mad but oh well , everyone wants to improve right? They might be mad at that time , but I guarantee they’ll start to see their problems and be grateful!

You know battling a virus for Almost 4 hours on the computer you draw on is not fun…

Thats the only reason Ive been playing FF13 all day… thanks to that virus just not wanting to go anywhere and thanks to my brother or whoever the hell got the virus on it in the first place.

Well, I know for myself, there are habits I have that I can’t seem to break myself out of, so I may respond with an “I know” but hearing it still makes me more aware of the problem and can end up helping me. Especially with patterns, it can be really hard to break yourself from them because they’re programmed responses that you’ve done over and over again. I’m probably not going to be able to stop that reaction just after being made aware of it one time. Probably not even the same day. My point I guess is to just be patient when you’re trying to help someone. You may be getting through to them even when it doesn’t feel like it.

If I ever sound mad about advice then slap me upside the head. I need that fucking advice. I’m way excited about Super and am definitely maining Juri. Storable double reppukens(first hit nullifies projectiles and you can hold buttons to save the slow but fast recovering projectiles) jump back dive kick and awesome teleport counter. Plus Yun custom combo Ultra thing. Hopefully my new stick will be ready by then but I have no clue if it will. It sucks that I haven’t been able to come down to AL or play but my money is on super lockdown.

Only advice people ever take to heart is advice from people they know are better then them. (And even then sometimes…)

And the only way to know someone is better then you is to admit it to yourself that “Hey_____ is way better then I am, so they know what they’re talking about because I suck compared.”

The reason people in our group get annoyed with advice is that nobody wants to admit there are that many people actually better then them, or have a better grasp of something then they do.

Other then that, I’m just like Matt. I’m pretty perceptive of my bad habits, and sometimes it’s annoying when it keeps getting pointed out…because I know what it is, but it’s just instinct and muscle memory so it’s hard to break out of them then and there. That’s something you have to work on on your own, or get beaten out of you by daily sessions with someone who knows them…, realize you’re broken…then get to work on it on your own.

I’m only up for this daily session thing when Super comes out, because there are no characters in SF4 that could help me that much.

Perhaps it would be better to wait and give advice (with maybe recorded video?) after people get done playing. That’s really why I wanted to do that gauntlet series of stuff so you can get experience vs. everyone, it would be recorded, and everyone can critique everyone else in the end.

I was waiting for Super to really push to get that started; I know Nathan is on board and he’s got a camera!

I’m down for more fighting session critiqueathons.
