Cincinnati OH, Dayton OH, and Northern Kentucky: I have the best Wesker!

I just bought a “Big Blue” Capcom cab! Now I have to get it shipped from NC. The guy is throwing in some new P360 sticks and competition buttons. This’ll be perfect for ST. I’m thinking about getting an 18-in-1 CPS-2 for it. Ghaleon bought one and said it was superb seeing as it is actual arcade roms. Nice set of games for the price.

Anything going on this weekend?I want to blow through a few times before the power-up Tournament.

Sounds great, can’t wait to break it in.

Its not looking good for a midnight release of SSF4. They won’t even sell the special edition in store. I think SF wore out it’s welcome with the mainstream conciousness during vanilla, which is fine.

There will ne no SSFIV sequel for that very reason. They got all the non-FG players to buy IV with the stupid looking graphics, and pump up the sales. Since people know what to expect in S-IV, only SRK (non-General Discussion) members will be buying it.

But there are other places to get it at midnight, as with any other game. I’m getting it at midnight because I’m off on Monday and Tuesday already.

If you can make it, the Columbus Bar Battles would be your best bet.

For those who can’t make it to Columbus, I’ll extend the same nothing-going-on Saturday rate of $6 if anyone wants to come to AL.

Also, I just realized we never put up concrete times for the SSFIV qualifiers in May. I wanted to add some side tournies so let’s go with this for the times

May 1st - 3pm
May 15th - 3pm and 7pm
May 22nd - 3pm and 7pm

Any votes for side tournies on these days? We can do one or two each day. I’ll make em cheap, like a buck or two. Something else to do throughout the day. We haven’t had any Tekken 6 lately so how about that on May 1st? I was thinking of an ST cab tourney on the 15th since I will have that new cab. Actually I should have both new cabs ready by then.

Sorry it seemed a little harsh, but it is the first novel right? I’d go with something simple yet cool-looking, maybe even just the main character on the cover, seeing as it’s the first it should be enough to grab someone’s interest and introduce the first character they should really be involved with.

Is ANYONE going to Cbus this weekend? I wasn’t really banking on going but I could easily find a place to crash and I have time if anyone was interested in heading up.

@Jesse: I second ST cab tourney. Would be fun. Possibly another cab tourney the same day? Not sure what though . . . maybe Marvel?

I know Project Justice has been looking for tourney love. Maybe even a 3S event? I’d like to play “Dick Tracy” Q some more.

hell ya project justice tournament id be down for that

and how is the turnout lookin for tonight. i dont got shit goin on and could make it out but i dunno how attendance has been with super so close. i know i havent been playing any fighting games other than pj and ngbc. which if i come tonight im gonna wanna play both.

What up everyone!?

I’ll definately be rounding up a good # of troops 4 some games 2nite @ AL. It’s been awhile, so I’m lookin’ 4ward 2 some games 4 sure.

Take it easy & have a good one. Peace. :china:

Keith, we’ve been doing between 12-15 people every week with a few weeks around 20. Let me know if you are coming and I’ll pop PJ in the sitdown cab. I have NGBC at AL so no need to bring it. You gave me your save data last time you brought it so I have that also.

Tekken 6 on the 1st (plus something else). PJ and ST cab tournies on the 15th then. Now I need something for the 22nd. How about a Tekken Tag cab tourney on the 1st?

you dont want me in that :wonder:

I really like the cover! Like Natan said, the characters could pop more. They should be the focus of the cover, but I find my eyes being dragged back to the kanji and title. those things pop too much.

I don’t know if this is right at all, but I ran "fierce samurai " through a translator and this is what it came up with. I don’t know if this is traditional or simplified.

???

Explain how changing the spelling of a word while keeping its pronunciation and meaning intact is the same as changing the spelling, pronunciation, and meaning of a word.

ojeeze

lol! Matt its Just a title man lol.

Thanks for all the critique everyone.

Im gonna be starting on the first chapter pretty soon.

I love me some TTT but those sticks are really murder with my execution. Plus most of our Tag Tekkenites use pad as well. If we ran one, I would definately prefer a PS2 affair. I can provide the system, game and controller if I make it out.

Oh and Quen, keep doing your thing. I dig it.

pP

Oooh Kyle GAH LEE GUUR don’t forget to bring your DS and Spirit Tracks tonight if you’re coming to AL. I can help you with the part you’re stuck on.

Oh Kyle , I dont think Ill be able to go to MWC with you nor will I be going to AL or any tournament any time soon.

edit
Its still early but I 90% will still be able to go. With no unforseen circumstances.

Just to clarify, you’re saying that there is some doubt that you’ll be able to go to MWC, but you are still 90% likely to go? I only ask because I assume everyone else is as confused when they read this post as I am.

Also, I’m not trying to troll you or anything, but a title can be a big deal. If you have an especially catchy title, it can be the difference between somebody picking up your book and leaving it on the shelf. If your title is especially dumb, it can cause people who might otherwise like the content to completely ignore it. Since you’re going for something in the manga style, you’re probably drawing upon manga readers as your audience. Manga readers are more likely to know Japanese than the average English speaker. As such, I fear they will only see “onagiri” as a failed attempt to gain credibility by pretending to know Japanese. This will be a huge turn-off for most of them. It would work a lot better if you you went with “onigiri” but went with a different meaning of “oni” besides devil, or a different meaning of “kiri” besides “cut.” That way, it would sound a lot more like a legitimate play on words instead of an error in spelling/pronunciation.
