Yes Phil! Very ggs last night. It felt good to play again. I was getting really tired and couldn’t do much of anything later in the evening. I’m looking foward to next time.

Don’t forget 2 button grabs. BlazBlue is not that slow. The reason you can tech out of combos is because the game encourages you to be in your opponents ass the whole time rather than catch someone slippin and combo them for big damage for free. Anyway, I actually like the game so far but I also like guilty gear so I guess that’s not really a big surprise.

So with Saturdays tournament still fresh on the mind, I want to get started on getting details ready for the next tournament. I was planning on Saturday August 1st. The closest tourney I could find on that date was Atlanta so I think I’m safe this time. Mainly I wanted to ask everyon’s opinion on the roster of games. SFIV and BB will definitely be on the card. Everyone should have a solid month to hone their skills on BB. I promised Kam I’d throw SC4 in the next tourney so that will be on there. Even if only a handful want in, we could do a Round Robin tourney. I was thinking 3s for the other one. We could do a KOF98, Darkstalkers 3 or even a CYBERBOTS for the heck of it. Just charge a couple bucks. Winner takes all. I also have that JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE board I just got in. And of course there’s always CvS2 (which I hope to have up to everyone’s standards by then). Super Gem Fighter anyone? Maybe Puzzle Fighter II (I have the arcade board). Any other suggestions?
Also, how did everyone feel about the pricing scheme for Saturday’s tournament? I think it helped get more players for the lesser games since it was only $5 more after the first two games were paid for. The pot at the end isn’t quite as big but you get more play time and chances to win some money. It’s your guys money. I just hold on to it until the end. Do you like lower entry fees and lower payouts or is it good the way it is now?
I appreciate all the help and constructive criticism you guys give. Hopefully the more tournaments we run, the better they get until they are truly godlike. I know some of you threw that phrase out there for this tournament, but I think we can do much better. And we will. I’ve never been to another fighting tournament like this so I have nothing to compare it to. I’m pretty sure I am going to make it to at least one day of Season’s Beatings so that will help me get a better grasp on how a well-respected tournament is run.
Finally, Don’t forget about the ranbats starting July 11th. I’m still debating on having the evening tournaments. I will post that on that thread when we decide

Anyway, i’m pleased with how the tournament went. The only problem is that we needed a megaphone or a PA system to announce people, but you know that already. SF4 is a slow game and I think the tournament went pretty well with no problems. The MVC2 tournament was probably better run on dreamcast since it allows people interested in the game to use their own sticks.
Stick complaints are probably due to people having their own sticks and not getting used to the ones in the cabs though the MVS cab is pretty bad in my opinion, I was having problems doing QCFs and I hate where the start button placement is, though that’s not anyone’s fault really.
The pricing is fine to me, though I only played 4 last time. At the August 1st tournament I will definitely be playing SF4, BB, and 3s if you’re having it.
I will try to make it to any event AL hosts as long as it doesn’t involve SSBB, Tekken, or Soul Calibur. 
If you want to run more games you’re going to have to enlist some help. Poor Jesse looked like a chicken with its head cut off on Saturday. I know how to run a bracket, and I’d be willing to help. If you want to run more games effectively you’ll need at least one person assigned to each game.
I don’t know what to tell you about the games since I don’t really compete. But I can help with running brackets.
Those who played Smash at Them VS Us know I run brackets with an iron fist. Most of them wanted to kill me probably by the end of the tourney. Though, I did make some awesome friends.
Just let me know if you’d like help with brackets next tournament.
