Good shit bro, one question though(keep in mind im posting this before watching grand finals) why didn’t you do the marlinpie set-up with viper and ammy where he siesmos an incoming phoenix(Im assuming to prevent her from air dashing away) calls ammy to bring her down and charges up a focus attack. I haven’t seen it fail once but that might be a product of him playing against lesser skilled phoenixs.

Oh and you don’t need to say it, anyone with an ounce of common sense knows f champ is a beastly player.

There are a lot of people who lack that ounce. That set up is 100% effective against Phoenix players who don’t know what they’re doing, if you time it right they’re forced to teleport the initial set up but the way he does it isn’t 100%. If you summon Ammy after the seismo there is either a gap before or after the ice shots or a spot to push block correctly, her ice shots require Viper to start charging her focus around when the first ice shot leaves, I think with proper seismo cancelling into the TK feint into focus it’s guaranteed but lack of lab time to practice prevents it for me D:

I actually did go for some Ammy set ups, though mainly went from it into mix up unfortunately, I should get the timing down on forcing the guarenteed unblockable, but I just don’t have it yet. Honestly if my execution were better touching 1 character would mean all 3 die, but I do not have that currently. :frowning:

A similar situation as the normal in Starbase, chokes in winners and losers finals for me. I MMd the guy I lost to in losers afterward off stream and redeemed myself by not taking a loss, but he clutched that shiz out on me in tourney the second time I played him. >.<

Match against Cam: 0:04:38
I start by dropping my combo by going seismic hammer instead of thunder knuckle, I need to blow a lot of gauge to kill the character. :frowning: then she gets double rainbowed.
Match 2. I get hit, decide to give Viper some time to heal and DHC out early, my scrub mode ammaterasu does all the work since she’s easy mode. >.<

Match Against Taozenforce/forwardkinematic, 1:14:40
One of the awesome people I get to play against regularly. :smiley: The first match I get bodied as sometimes happens, he catches Viper and Task and they both die.
Next match he summons X-23 while crystalling by accident and I Emergency combination to blow it up. Mostly do work with Ammy/Viper
Next match I drop my fierce TK nonsense and it makes me sad. I try to bait Haggar so I can get 2 kills after Dante’s dead, but I fail to punish correctly. :frowning:

Next match I fight is against Pikie/Steve: at 1:37:50
The last time I played him before this I barely squeaked by, I dropped less this time despite dropping the 2C 236C at the beginning of the match, despite this Viper OCVs the team very convincingly.
Second match after 1 connected Seismic hammer I 1 shot Wesker with a combo. :smiley: Unfortunately A_Rival stood up from the streaming station and I couldn’t really see for a little while, when the screen was more than half visible again things were looking ill, I ended up losing Ammy. :frowning: I DHC after killing X-23 as I want Viper alive. >.>; When I did the angled arrows I was expecting the sphere flame, attempted to DHC into Emergency combination and failed. Baits only work when you punish. >.< That focus was X-factor, but apparently it was not… Bloody Marvel inputs!

Next is in Part 2:

Match versus F-Champ Winners Finals Although they got the names wrong, RabidSmurf is not using my team at: (Part 2) 0:39:30
First match I fail at X-factor in the combo to make the damage high enough that it won’t build meter quickly for him.
Match 2 drop combo against Magneto. OCV with Viper. I drop emergency combination when he chaotic flames Viper and Task for some reason, hit it after he drops his own thing.
Match 3, Champ burns crazy gauge to kill Viper since he knows it’s a good idea, ends up being a good match, he takes it.
match 4, OCV until Dark Phoenix, then failed emergency combination :frowning: a reminder to never be so bad at a game you fail at a 236 motion. XD Champ takes it

Losers finals match against Cam, for some reason it was made 2/3 despite a lot of people being against that, I went with it and despite my fail just MMd afterward for my pride and half the difference in the pot. (Part 2) 0:48:50
Match 1, 1 hit kill Chris redfield after some seismos. Kind of one sided match, guess I lulled myself into a false sense of security D:
Match 2: I have the match, then fail to punish correctly with Taskmaster, thus I lose said match. :frowning: Cam really clutches it out and does well at the end after I drop like 5 chances for Viper or Task to kill him.
Match 3: I kill Chris, then absolutely fail when I drop that easy combo on Zero, and because of it off a bad summon lose 2 characters, then die off an American reset and I’m out of the tournament.

Sorry I haven’t updated the OP in a while, I haven’t been playing this game but will get right back on it. I still need to find a damn team for this game lol. And I must say good shit to you Chrisis for sharing all of this information on the boards and for the match vids. Keep on repping our friendly neighborhood milf. :slight_smile:

Gra, Iplaywinner has that part temporarily down =/ which thing was it? I didn’t do any of the effective combos that night so if you’re labbing it you should likely be labbing something that’s slightly better which I can say but since I lack a console for training mode can’t do consistently in matches.

That combo has a few errors that need to be adjusted that are simply execution things:

How to fix that combo to be more effective:
Dash under, Arrows hit, 214A~S~C~S, 2B, 2C xx 236B xx 236S, 623A /-\ ADF, C, S -/ 2C 236C~S 9 (Remove)B,(/Remove) C, S xx 214A~S~C~S (Remove)9(/Remove) xx 214 A~S B, C, S xx 214S -/ 5S /-\ B, B, C 9, B, C, S -/ 623A, 214AB

This makes the combo do massively more (Like at least 200K more) damage so it will kill way more characters and make you not need Burst time against ones like X-23.

I don’t have a console or camera, that’s why I’m only seen on streams and IPW as opposed to any casual postings of my own, I’ll check with a friend to see if I can get the full combo recorded which is a tad more complex than that but kills every character in the game with DHC.

what do you mean by 214A~S~C~S exactly? Do you mean to burn kick feint with either A or C, or does it mean something else?

~ is a sign for really really fast. XD ~A~S~C~S is hitting ASCS with no blank frames in between them, the more accurate way of writing that which I should have done is 214A****S~C~S since you need to wait 4 frames for that part, sorry for any confusion.

ToD combos are the least broken thing about Viper, it only gets better from there! :smiley:

Yup. I was waiting for you to hit Ryan’s phoenix with that instant bk feint overhead in the corner the first time you snapped her in at the grandfinals. I thought you did good. I’ve been working on my matchup with Magneto seeing that is my worst right now and I’ve come to realize if they want an opening and are not mindless in their aggression I will place a light seismo down. Because anywhere between 3/4ths screen Mag can tri-dash Heavy on you. It’s horrible for viper, but then again it gives you good reason to use EX.Seismo. I also figured out that you can reverse a tri-dash setup for magneto pretty easily. Doing a Medium TK late feint under any forward dash You can get up generally before they get off the ground with a SJ again. Just gives you an opportunity at a mix-up.

st.L to heavy TK feint before hit into throw is when you lockdown a with an assist is such a great technique. On the last hit of ammy or task you can reset the block stun by just doing a st.L and cancel into a throw. Only reason im saying this is one time you tried a walk-up throw a couple times and they were either in block stun or they could react to it.

I have actually been watching your videos pretty regularly Chrisis to up my Viper game. It has been much easier to help get a sense of what to do than MarlinPie because my execution is just not on that level and might not ever be. It is good to see someone be able to use her effectively while not having to have the execution of a Greek God with a joystick (although her execution still is not easy).

More Starbase vids coming soon, some really good competition this week. I placed worse than I would have if I was using my old team, but still managed to take 5th losing to Dacidbro and Tyram.

I 1 shotted Taskmaster on stream with Viper only needing 1 starting gauge. :smiley: I promptly dropped X-factor for random focus attack when attempting to finish the job killing Tron. =/

Apparently picking up new characters makes me play less intelligently, I was really stupid a lot of tonight, but I should be back on track in a few weeks. ^.^

Viper/Dante is an amazingly stupid good team, backed with Taskmaster I feel other than fighting team godlike it has no bad match ups, and even that is questionable.
