yeah, ive punished jab boom on reaction before, but honestly i got extremely lucky and was using twitch… twitch imho isnt really “on reaction”.
generally speaking, you cant count on ultraing through jab booms unless your opponent is total ass, in which case you probably dont NEED to ultra through jab booms anyways.
guiles jab boom is THE REASON why everything else about him except for his crouching fierce, sucks.
jab boom is plain and simply one of, if not the best moves in the game.
unfortunately for guile thats really all that they gave him and it most definitely isnt enough.
LP boom is 9/0/29
MP boom 9/0/31
HP boom 9/0/33
EX boom 11/0/39
There isn’t much of a difference between the recovery of lp and hp boom since they all recover close to half a second, it is very possible to punish it with ultra on reaction.
However, punishing it with dash ultra is a lot more difficult since you have to allready input ffbf and then at the same time react if he threw something or not and then press kkk, if you’re dashing after reacting to him throwing it won’t punish it.
Compared to Ryu’s hadoken 13/0/45 it’s more difficult to punish not just because of the startup/recovery aspect of the moves but also because Guile’s sonic boom animation is more subtle than hadoken.
With hadoken you can see them pulling their arms back and you get a blue flash, with Sonic boom you won’t react to it until it’s actually out on the field already, that’s why it feels that much faster than hadoken.
edit: I checked Akuma in training mode and it’s true, he can cancel his normals into ultra on block/hit/whiff, that 's something I’ll keep in mind.
However, neither eventhubs nor the srk wiki states that he can cancel his normals into ultra.
hey guys. Here’s a couple of vids of me playing against a pretty good Sagat/Ryu player. He raped me pretty badly tho (19-2 to be exactly  ). Here’s some of the matches:

I think nuki thought daigo was gonna follow a fireball after that low foward. So he did ex hanzan shu to counter that.
Nuki is tight. I like his style.
lol yeah, last tourny i entered shiningsoul brought me back to reality with a very nice out of the blue super reversal on my cr.hk.
dont do this in chun v. chun unless she just lost her charge. super actually hurts in this mirror… but i like ex legs more as chun has no defense against it exxcept for block or reversal with unsafe hasanshu.
About the last video between nuki and daigo, i don’t understand why you say that the st mp is hard to link with super. When i read the framedata i see +5 on hit.
And also, i have already seen haneyama or nemo put this combo on a earlier TRF Tourny.
What i miss ? O__o
It’s more easy to link st. hp after a cr jab but it’s more easy to land a super after st. mp.
So nuki use the counter cr jab to land st mp (not possible otherwise) but he missed the more easier part with the super after th st mp
A lot of jap players use chuns light lightning legs, nuki combo-ed it into cr.short into ex legs, and nemo combo-ed it into a cr.Rh for the knockdown. definitely going to try and get better at buffering legs. the only reason i dont use it a lot is becuase im not to great at executing it.
