Your Chun Li is great MagnetoManiac way better than mine I will have to see your youtube page to see more of your exceptional play.

I’m pretty bad but I’m getting better. This was more of a check to make sure my equipment was working than actually picking out good matches.
yes it was an honor quit hehe.
Omgosh, English voice overs… so wierd! :wgrin:
Your air-to-airs are pretty sharp. If you are looking for something in particular to work on to improve your game as a whole, then I’d look into Chun’s options on getting inside without jumping in. It seemed that whenever you got to a certain distance when you were pressing forward, you would opt to jump pretty much everytime. Once inside you can work Chun’s mid-distance poke game, and close range bnb combos. Fundamentally sound Chun-Li for the most part though.
Yeah in 3D fighters the idea of jabbing isn’t too popular so I’m still trying to get there. Also, without the 3D plane I’m having a hard time not jumping to approach. Now that I’m using Light Kiko more it’s allowing me to feel better about doing it but even still.
Thanks for the advice.

at 2:51 - did he do EX kick overhead in the air???
No, it just looks like it if you do it right when you land. Try it in training mode to see it.
Nagoya Street Battle 4!!
http://search.zoome.jp/combine_tag?q=NSB4
Japanese Kanji rapes me for free so, apologies for no direct videos. But it’s invaluable to lurk around and find some of these!
Azrael, find MU? and Y24 for me please! They are amazing Chun players ^^
edit: http://zoome.jp/nsb/diary/103
I like that Chun player too, they’re all freakin sick lol. I can’t tell if I’m reading the team or player’s name…but if I’m reading this right it says “Kuronuko” ( ??? ?. The rest seems to be Kanji so, no hope there. Can anyone decipher please?
That Chun vs Gouki match… ‘I’ve never seen a match-up this intense,’ really patient solid play.
Going to take a while to watch those Street Battle vids ^^, thanks for the links.
Edit: http://zoome.jp/nsb/diary/118 MU?'s usage of ultra in this one is great, throws it out to punish all sorts of jumps ^^. (First two matches)
can you tell me which of those nagoya street battle vids have chun footage?
man these vids are INTENSE! some REALLY nice footage in these of the chuns my favorite so far is this one:
the akuma v chun match in this one is the most original ive seen in awhile i also like how the chun won the first round then the akuma adjusted his play and beasted the chun in the second (i thought the game was over at that point) but then the third round came along…
really nice action in that one… unfortunately the chun had to play against a viper in the second match… didnt go down to well for the chun but i was surprised at how well he did given the differences in BP and character matchup definitely wanna watch both matches again and again and again!
also this was against MACHIS gouki which makes it even better!

Magneto your Chun is absolutely sick. I picked up Chun only recently and watching all these videos is teaching me alot. Definitely gonna keep an eye on your youtube too Magneto, keep them coming. The more you post the more I’ll watch, I like the way you handle your Chun. Watching you play makes me wanna turn on my PS3 right away and get some Chun training for a few hours. But yeah keep posting, I could use any tips I can get. =P
Here’s some Chun vs Rufus for you guys.

I have a 3rd one processing and will post later.
Sorry for someone blowing their nose in the background once, I can’t control background noises ><
edit: Dime you will be proud of the ending in the 2nd video heh.
edit two: I swear I only mash like a madman for EX legs online!!! xD
edit three: the third match. Man, I got too jumpy on the ultra, should have hit the full one!! I shoulda back dashed at the end from that jesus kick too, woulda blocked if he did the somersault, and would have evaded the high/low. If I blocked from mashing back I could have punished too. Lesson learned.
You really weren’t giving Gouki7 any advantages when you took the life lead. If he wanted to get himself back in the match, he had to come to you ^^. Nice finish at the end of round 3 of the second video too, pretty much a practical tutorial of the ‘Chun-Li Stomp Shenanigans’ thread. (Oh I see why Dime would be proud **)
Damn, MagMan, your Chun-Li is beast. Honestly, I’m not quite sure how to do the “three low shorts into EX Legs” combo, but your video was really helpful. Hearing the timing of your button presses gives me a good idea of how I should be doing mine. Thanks, g.
Thanks haha but that’s just me mashing and praying it comes out.
Offline = c.lk (tap lk again) c.lk (tap lk again) lk+mk…EX comes out in one shot.
Online = Mash like a madman and pray afterwards. <- This works too ^^.
Aight. Thanks for the tip, dude! Good shit! Gotta rep them sexy legs!
This is so true haha.
good stuff mag maniac. definitely made the rufus matchup more clearer for me. Didn’t know s.hp close and far were decent anti airs, will incorporate into my game
I do it this way:
c.LK~MK, c.LK~MK, ( MK + HK ) x2.
You can also do:
c.LK~MK, c.LK~MK~HK, MK + HK, but I (like most people probably) am not as good as piano-ing from index to ring finger as the opposite.
