Wow, vivi got trampled. This is the exact reason I hate mirror matches. I play another chun, even the worst imaginable and all of a sudden I’m like, “der, how to play game?”. God I’m stoopid!
Chun v Chun is just a match-up like any other. At the heart of any situation, you are either punishing, defending, waiting, or attacking. You still have to learn how it is safe to approach, what your situational anti-airs are, and what your punishes are. Just because you are fighting the same character you are playing, doesn’t mean decision making is any less important.
While I agree this is true MOST of the time, there is a Chun player named CC at WNF. He is by no means an amazing player. He’s not bad either, but the amount of absolute bullshit he gets away with is ridiculous.
He has beaten Valle, Keno, and many other Chun players (in the Chun mirror) at WNF because of bullshit. His legend is known far and wide in socal.
It is common knowledge that if you’re matched against CC, you will lose at least one set. Because of random sweeps, empty jumps into U2 and randomly placed reversal EX Legs.
In fact I found the evidence thanks to an onslaught on Keno’s facebook wall bashing him for losing to CC.
As a regular viewer of WNF, I can second that. No matter how safe you think you are, he will at least get a match or two because lolsweep and U2 when you’re pressing buttons. I was in disbelief when he beat Valle two straight rounds-- and using U2 no less.
He’s leveled up compared to months ago, but still a long ways to go. Please teach him how to U1
