I played this one yesterday and it is already one of my favorite matches out of all of them I’ve played.
The consistency with which Nashfan lands that legs loop is very impressive.
Back before I had a job and could grind it away I used to be able to, but now I’m lucky to hit a second rep even in training mode /sadface. Usually I end with sweep or link a normal into EX Legs for the safe jump.

Talked to this with Malv a few times, but now I got the vids. Me getting beat up by a friend’s Sakura. Lots of ugliness therein. :oops: Anyone have intensive exp of this matchup?
It feels like the Fei Long matchup for me. Keep out/keep her at bay and it’s winnable, but it’s really annoying and when she gets her own game running, it’s difficult to bounce back.
Do I just do my best not to get hit by j. hp/FA and get the party started? Apparently if she has no meter/I stay away from her c. hp I can rush her down a bit like one could vs. a meterless Rufus?
I don’t think this is anything new, but it was still cool to watch.
One thing I really suggest you do is pressure Sakura on wake-up whether she has meter or not. Chun Li can always use meaty jabs on Sakura’s wake up because Chun recovers fast enough to block ex sho. This will help you build meter, at least.
It seemed to me you used knockdowns as a time to reset your spacing, so to build on my previous advice, I would say to use your block strings to help you manipulate spacing instead.
I think it’s better if Sakura has no meter… I’ll def have to respect a metered one then. From my experience Sakura’s tend to mash out EX dp like it’s Rufus’ EX Messiah. Malv said EX dp has a fair amount of invul too (which is why it can anti fireball at mid to close range… I’d imagine it can mess with OS’s too).
yeah because ex dp is slow you cant really use OS against it (unless you are ryu with lots of iframes duh).

Well, if ex sho is blocked, it is a free punish for you. otherwise, Sakura has to waste 3 meters to put herself at frame disadvantage. so what if she has meter? let her waste it on trying to punish meaty jab.
When you notice mashing, then start incorporating blocking into your openings.
You can respect that Sak has ex sho if you are planning on opening up your block strings, but it doesn’t change the fact that ex sho is free against meaty jabs, which put you in a good offensive situation. You don’t always have to go crazy just because you are in her face, but take the opportunity to put some fear into her.
yeah meaty jab is safe, but just dont use OS against her… you´ll have a bit of trouble against backdashes, but hey what are readings for… right?
Playing one of the top players in Korea, seems I can do fairly well in the Ken matchup now that I’m not tripping over myself to get at him on wakeup anymore.
I guess I’ll repost the stuff that gets posted on the Facebook group too.
Anyone else try these? Are the fancy FADC frame traps/ultras/etc worth doing, or are they just unnecessarily flashy?
