close hp->EX HSU-> c. hp to legs -> tag out to Ibuki, whaaaaaat :looney:

Great stuff man! that is actually the kind of breakdown I’d like to have on the whole cast. My biggest issue is match up knowledge. And with every other fight online it seems I’m either against E. Ryu, Oni, Ken and Yun. I don’t get to see the other cast members a whole lot

No doubt. I was hoping like hell Ibuki would be in and blam-o! I get my wish. I’ve seen more footage of them and jeez they look so sick! Plus with Chun being motion based her moves are the same as Ibuki’s, lol! Just if only they’d make her SBK a dragon punch then they’d definately be the same.
Normally I’m quite happy for players to use ultras interchangeably for matchups, but I would argue that U1 is a much better choice against Gief for several reasons.
- Kikosho (U2) is just a shitty ultra period! It’s only advantage is that it’s free to use.
- Hosenka (U1) punishes ex green hand on block … even if he focus dashes backwards.
- Hosenka punishes meter-building Lariats.
- Hosenka’s damage shits all over Kikosho because well …
- Kikosho is a shitty ultra period!
Good to know…im literally learning so much just being here.
- had no clue the hosenka could stop the lariats… (Thanks for pointing that out)
- had no clue hosenka could beat (EX) green fist on block …
I have to try to use it more often … it would make sense considering you are blocking and basically charging it…
I only started maining Chun since chocolate, so any suggestions are definitely welcome!
I think that that info should go into the match up thread cause its useful and I think I did a good job lol. I don’t know how to get it there
Get SnakeAes to add it to the lifestyle guide, send him a PM or something… That’s the best bet and yeah as general info goes it will be useful to people learning Match Ups… Like how you prop yourself made me lol a little
I see it, I will add it when I get a second. Work has been busy lately so I haven’t as much time to update the guide as I’d like.
Also regarding U1 against Gief, it doesn’t just punish EX Green Hand. It punishes all blocked Green Hands as a reversal.
Found footage of my mentor vs a Honda at a choco Super tournament. Going to take notes then

I really ought to stop sticking my hand (s. mp or s. hp) in the garbage disposal when the other guy has an Ultra that can reach me. :xeye:
As a bonus

2:58, that is broken, omg. As if he weren’t top tier enough.
In general it’s just easier for Chun to land u1 vs. gief more so than u2, and the damage is well worth it.
Ch st.mp, u1
st.mp x ex legs, u1
j.hp, u1
Punishes lariat
Punishes ex hand
Punishes blocked sweep
Generally you have to be closer to combo into u2 than u1, and you don’t want to be close to gief.
The only upside to u2 in the gief matchup is that it’s a guaranteed anti-air if he’s using u1.
Hi everybody,
You can watch my Super versus battle matches in my blog here :

Pretty solid play, I must say you’ve improved a lot since last year.
Farewell tour for my Chun.
Just a few more days and 3rd Strike will be released and that is where I’ll be.
I’ll likely be back for the rebalance just to see what changes were made but also, my Chun is as good as she’s going to get so check out some of my matches from Friday night and I’ll have some more up from Saturday night complete with piss pour anti air attempts and execution F*ups.
Versus Sim (Sim player won the set 3-2—I just tried to play it like GunslingerMeeks would – “TRIED”):

I love your avatar…
If you want a C&C I’ll write you a PM, easier that filling up the forum as then you can reply and we can discuss it in a back and forth manner… If you want?
@Rayarts I feel that you jump too much, Chun li has a really floaty jump that can be easily anti air’ed (Only time you should be jumping in is to punish or on wakeup). Against Cody I feel that its best to take the momentum by playing aggressively because if you let him take it then he’ll frame trap you for the rest of the match, that’s just from my experience from playing a good Cody.

Cody should definitely be pressured and rushed if you have a knockdown against him. He and Chun and Rose (and I think Viper) kind of comprise the Sucky Wakeup Options club.  He’s an elite member though, 'cause at least Rose and Chun can opt to wakeup backdash a lot of the time, whereas he doesn’t really have that luxury.
And yes, Cody frame traps and meaties/tornadoes are annoying as all hell… but only if you let him get a head start.
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH DJ WATCH THIS VIDEO IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!
…no seriously really cool stuff in this vid >.<
