Well, his Chun Li is not very turtling yet he still won.
That’s what most of the top Japanese Chun li players play like. That’s what I mean by an aggressive kinda Chun li, yet they’re also very solid, you hardly see any flaws.
To be honest, I had no problems with you playing aggressive, as I myself play a pretty offensive game. I just don’t think you have great matchup knowledge. As evidence by some of your safe jump setups, or lack thereof.
Chun li versus MDR (Yun)

In the 2nd round you can see how dive kick loose easily versus poke if yun whiff them in front of chun li.
Wow that super combo looks like a real pain in the ass- juggle juggle juggle
thanks for posting though, I need to see more of the twins fighting Chun so I can vicariously get some match up experience before the DLC comes out.
Is it me or does the Yun’s dive kick appear faster then Rufus’. I can usually tag him fairly easily with St. MK unless they vary the height. Just by watching this it seemed like Yun was faster, may just be me though.
What blueasterisk said. I recognize that Chun’s username. IIRC he’s one of the tops. The reason why he could afford to go all out is that he probably knows the matchup well. If you’re just starting out and in the process of feeling out, especially against a character like Sagat, a little bit of playing it safe won’t hurt. He knew what Chun moves would best stuff Sagat’s, and very good use of dash/backdash/focus etc.
If you notice, he did stop at around 0:41 and 1:33 to see what the Sagat would do. I felt Chun dictated Round 3 with a slower, deliberate pace too. Nice fakeout at the end.
Fuck that Genei Jin.
ssf4: don’t block edition
fix’d
Hopefully Chun can punish his upkicks with something like dash, c.hp x legs loop or hk hazanshu, c.lp, st.hp.Also I’m pretty certain c.hp x legs, c.hp x legs, c.hp x legs, c.hk works on the twins and Oni, on Oni you might actually be able to do four loops.
Oni’s hitbox is pretty big, I’ve definitely done three loops, but I never figured out how to do the fourth against Abel anyway (feels like it requires a different version of Legs?) so I didn’t bother trying for a fourth, I just hit Sweep lol.
anything us non-god-like 2d elites can do to punish his upkicks?
lol
I’m still working on my c.hp x legs and plinking it seems to be an issue for me, but I got more important things I must learn first. Still have to ace my anti-airs for sure.
I feel if I can make her damn near immovable then I can get more intense with the offensive pressure which is actually pretty decent thanks to several mix-ups I learned from you guys and I’m learning more everyday.
I love this forum!
That’s good to hear

That Chun-Rog match was excruciating to watch.
Anyone watching the AE charity event?

No noteworthy Chun so far… except for the one that dropped the U2 that could have won him the match.

Looks like Haneyama dropped Chun Li for Yang
I was surprised.
