my youtube channel is Rayartz and all I have is a bunch of Wii and Kayane videos haha
edit
the whole video makes me sick at my performance but at 6:20 I actually got a round win; Chun couldn’t believe it either, due to her victory celebrations lol!
There’s nothing wrong with losing like that to launchpad. No shame in that what so ever. I think everyone is on slightly different plains skill-wise. That and it’s lol online. Don’t get me wrong .
Well don’t misunderstand what I’m saying by ‘being sick’, I knew I was in a major up hill fight waaaaay outmatched in terms of experience let alone skill. I just couldn’t do half the shit I wanted to do, because Launchpad is so much better. I’d try to poke and by extending my hit box I got drilled on whiff pokes, that mixed with dropped combos and missing my damn Kikosho (late or just not coming out) it was all added up on top of an overall really bad day in SSF4 that seriously made me want to quit all together.
Basically what I’m saying is I felt like I was really improving but when you get owned like that you kinda wonder – whats the point?
But yeah LaunchPad is flat nasty, lol!! And I certainly appreciate him not holding back.
So onto better videos…
Your first problem is actually choosing u2 in this matchup. I’m aware there are contentious debates that either ultra is suitable for this matchup, but it became very apparent to me early on that without u1, Launchpad was virtually shooting kikokens at will, allowing him to control space and zone much better than you.
Also, resist the temptation to hit buttons when unnecessary. I’m not sure how many times I counted you sticking out attacks and getting heavily punished for it.
i know how u feel on that. i played this bison player and didnt know what to do. All i knew was to trying and keep him out thats it. but the little things about the match up i have no idea.
(i dont need this is how u beat bison page going on lol. Cardell and I are already on that. He is going to show me some stuff.)
i feel like our chun li match threads sucks. is there a way to make it better like abel’s.
The best way to change that would be for players to stop giving the basic tips about a matchup. Like when if someone wants tips against Feilong (just an example), I think most of the time they aren’t looking for help with beating some scrub Feilong, but need some REAL advice in the matchup that works against the best Feilong’s out there.
Playing against a bad player and a good player is a hugely different thing when it comes to matchups, the biggest reason is that a bad player will essentialy kill themselves by doing stupid things over and over again. A good player knows exactly what you and they are allowed to do, so they will play much different, and the matchup changes completely due to that.
I think it would help if the posters specified that too. “What is the Move X that Character Y is using that bugs you so much? Anything else about the Character Y that gives you difficulty?” And yes, a brief description of skill level would definitely help too.
I think the matchup thread is okay, but it definitely has grown pretty large, so it can be quite hard to look up specific info. The first post needs to be edited with more matchup stuff with content from the later pages.
As a player who gets a LOT, a LOT A LOT of casuals in against good Bison players (Victheslik, Hugo101, AndyOCR, etc), I have a lot of advice on this matchup. I posted it somewhere, I will see if I can repost it in the Matchup thread sometime if I can find it.
Right it is the April 1st, but I reckon if this is true this guy deserves much respect, this seemed like the right place to put this as he uses Chun but I imagine most of you will have seen it. Still if it real its impressive stuff
Been learning Chun-Li there too. I play SF4/SSF4 more often than MvC3 though, more players here.
The pad Chun I befriended. He’s good, and getting better with arcade sticks, though he plays mostly on PSN (he’s the same Chun in the vids I posted earlier).
So these were my first two matches playing on srklive. I was pretty nervous, and I don’t now the Abel match-up well at all. This was all basically playing on instinct and using the very little match-up knowledge I am aware of. I was looking for him to roll more, because I know they are not throw immune, but he wasn’t very…rolly. The axekick…I think I got hit by every one he threw out there. I have no clue as to counters or punishes, and I couldn’t seem to curb my kikoken habits, so I was eating a lot of EX axekicks.
I honestly think the only reason I was able to hold up in this match is because he wasn’t using typical Abel tick command grabs and other command grab shenanigans. I buckle fast under that. It seems I choose wrong at every turn. I know Abel has some pretty mean option selects, but I’m not too familiar with what they all are or what the safest action is for me.
I know I should have zoned more against him, but his axekicks scare me.
