Launchpad and wave of babies, my only concern is you jump too much.

Fuerte, Viper and Cammy have so much tools to punish those jumps

I piano it

Darth Shizza in Da place ^^

God I love watching Pro Chun-Li’s play… It’s super awesome to watch and is totally sexy.

My Chun-Li consists of getting perfected in every match… Ugh.

Second vid at 1:03 is fucking ridiculous. EX Spinning, Forward Dash, and U1. I can’t imagine what else he can do.

Whats up fellas?

Never posted before.

I uploaded a few videos and would like some feedback please.

I’m having trouble taking the next step with chun. Im stuck.

Any specific critiques would be great, “punish this with this, instead of this”, “when character X does this dont do this”

I know I jump too much and drop links, punishes, but I’m looking for more specific stuff if you can.

I’ll upload some more latter. If you guys have some time take a look.

Happy Thanksgiving too any Canadian players.

Edit - 2 more vids any help would be appreciated!

That Gouken seems to like doing demon flips, I would try air grabbing more, dashing under his jump ins, and meeting him in the air with double fierces or fierce straight up. Also I notice you don’t attempt grabbing a lot, mix it up if they have a tight defense. I think your play is pretty solid, you just need to work on grab mix ups.

Dude I wish you had an Xbox, would love for you to show me how to play.

I’ll take that as a compliment haha

Few more vids, any analysis is appreciated.

I don’t know why i have so much problems with Rog. I know what to do, but I can never execute, even vs bad Rogs, I still get a beating.

For Guile I would say only do Hazanshu when you’re closer, don’t always try and anticipate the Sonic Boom because it recovers really fast. You need to get in and pressure Guile with mix ups and block strings. You wanna try and bait the flash kicks because those have a lot of drawback. When Guile sweeps and you block the first one, focus the second so you can get a free crumple off of it and capitalize.

For Ibuki I think you need to watch what you do when she’s on the other side of the screen, they WANT you to poke or throw a projectile so they can punish it. For the Kunais, now I try and hit them because they aren’t like regular projectiles that hurt you if you hit them, the Kunais deflect when you hit them. Work on some more mix up, use DF+HK and Nemo’s frame trap (Cl.HK xx LK Hazanshu) and mix up some grabs with that.

For Balrog you really need to get up in his face and do mix ups. Block strings are only putting distance between you two, you don’t want that. Do lots of Hazanshu/Throw mix ups. Keep him out by St.HP his jump ins. For his EX dashes you try and jab more and do 2 hits (2 hit combos or follow ups example: Kikoken > St.MP or St. HK) or even better, throw him on the start up. Anticipate the headbutts because those also have a lot of draw back, just be careful, its sometimes best to try and DF+HK so you can make him whiff it (He might catch on to it, so don’t do it so often). Balrogs often like to do that jump in HP or what ever it is that punches downwards, My best bet is to do Cr. MK.

scampling, i take a look on all your vids.
My general advice is changing your game/style.
If you know what to do, that also means your opponent know what you will do
On your vids i saw the same thing. Your opponent apply the strat “How beat a wikipedia chun li”.
Your next step is to figure out how beat yourself. At this moment you will be forced to change your game.

I’m just wondering how you approach this. Is there some visual cue to look out for? And what is the best move to use to deflect the kunais?

Thanks for taking a look and for the help. But what do you mean exactly? This is a little vague.

Do you mean I don’t play with any real personality?

Naw I think what he’s getting at in specifics is that you play chun like most newer chuns play her. It’s effective up to a certain point then it’s not. Eliminate random hasanshus and focus on anti airs. Don’t jump unless your positive you can’t be anti aired or reversaled. Jumping with chun can be super effective if you safe jump because often times players will test your safe jump with a bad reversal instead of blocking.

I never jump on rog unless it’s after a forward throw. Then at the soonest possible moment I do a dash and jump forward with j.fp x 2.

I’m not sure, I just try and do that, haven’t really looked into it. I would think of neutral fierce or target combo.

Been pretty MIA from the CHun thread lately. Haven’t been playing and working on getting better as much as I wanted too ( real-life stuff kicking me in the ass)

Well I’m back and I’m working on an experimental series of videos where I commentate my own match. Talk about why I did certain things, what I know, and What I was thinking at the time.

This is mainly to help me, but Putting it on youtube for public view can also gain access to a lot of other players, So I can either get advice from them, or help them along the way by teaching them somethign they may not have known.

This is my first vid. It’s experimental and very rough draft/sloppy -ish.

I’m sure you chunner’s will like the end of the match though.

Welp, this is me hoping to have to the time to commit to this and get better. Watching yourself and Analyzing your own matches are a really good way to dig deep and figure out internal problems.

Nice man, I learned a few things. Thanks.

Nice video. I actually learned helpful things there. Like meaty cr.mk on rogs wakeup. I guess if you wanted to you could pair that with and u2 option select for times when he decides to backdash. Nice man. Keep em’ coming.
