Just a newbie to SFIV and Chun Li, and just now I’m transferring from D-Pad to actual Arcade Stick, the only thing I haven’t been able to pull off is the cr.hp to the leg kicky kicks, I dunno if they’re s.l kicks or s.m kicks.
Is it more doable with a stick rather than a D-Pad or angalog stick? I’m assuming the Chuns in the video are Arcade Stick people, like 90% of the community o-o
I would say it’s much easier on stick, but Shizza (pad player/excellent chun) pulls it off on pad somehow. A while ago he said he would show how he does it during Wednesday Night Fights, but I’m not sure if it occurred or not.

I played really bad with chun, I was trying a new option select but it wasn’t working out, so i switched to my new secondary.
this match was a complete turtle match.
I’m always affraid of this character and ski is really good with him.
lost here, i was having mad trouble trying to AA sagat.

Comment, OH yea. i’m starting to miss, short short ex legs again.
I think it may be the range at which Steve was jumping at. It’s got you looking at other things (like FA’s and dashes) and your AA reaction speed goes down the more stuff you’re paying attention on.
More of a question, but there’s usually a gap between df+HK and the following c.lk or w/e that ppl can DP through unless it’s done meaty, right? Saw some shallow df+HK’s and that stuff usually gets me reversalled unless I’m conciously trying to bait it by backdashing.
Depends on the dp. blocking a df + hk leaves you at + 2 and the start up of cr.lk is 3 frames meaning that if your opponent is mashing a reversal with startup invincibility frames their move will likely win / trade out in that 1 frame where you no longer have the frame advantage. Not sure if that answers the question or not.
Yea it does. I could have jsut looked up the fram data! d’oh. Anwyay, going for a df+HK after two shorts combo into EX legs hits meaty and “ambiguous” that the followup is pretty safe, any other df+HK gets me stuffed, like I said before. However, that probably has to do with me being predictable. Same goes for j.LK crossup, which I try to limit.
I think both of us don’t play at all outside of tournaments. I don’t feel like playing casuals in this game, not so fun. But tournament matches I always gotta give it my all. I’ll find a way to get better before Season’s Beatings. Can’t let anyone and myself down.
Yeah I think its cos of frame advantage but I still think its hard to do, only had it 3 times now in “real” fights (and one of them was against you so that’s not really a “real” fight)
i hate akuma i mean the damage isn’t so bad now but it’s still the same concept 50-50 if he guess right 240 damage plus you guess right your out the vortex for now
