yea, your guile is better than steve’s. He just talks too much. I hate that.
I use to keep guiles under pressure. Only safe jumps and hazant ex to keep it safe too.

At least on this one it worked ^^
Hello, I’m trying to main Chun as a secondary character, and I was wondering if I could get some feedback.
Here’s my video:
I like to use a lot of poke attacks with her, but I’m not too sure if she’s most effective if used that way.
Here are some recent matches of my Chun, if you have advice or questions dont hesitate. It’s all match ups i had a lot of difficulties but that i tried to study and trained a bit. So i still have a lot of things to do to improve against those characters.
VS a Viper called Morphost :

VS a Dhalsim :

VS Boxer :

Nice matches, though I got the feeling your opponents weren’t up to snuff. May be wrong because you can’t tell much if anything from a single match.
The boxer could have punished predicted kikoukens harder had he gone with EX upper into a combo. He didnt’ follow up the one time he did. You jumped forward several times but he wasn’t sitting still (probably scared of pokes and Hazan Shu) so he didn’t AA. I think maybe you were jsut going for the air2air fierces, dunno. You were more careful about kikoukens in the first round than in the second, and you basically walked behind most of them then retreated and threw another. He (instinctively?) punished one of them, but again, without anything threatening. I loved the ex legs x2 juggle that won you the first round on the very last hit of the juggle!
Last round of the sim match you were both building meter and he predictably went for the TK teleport but then failed to combo into super which it was probably still too little too late, but you should watch out for the teleport more. If you’ve got a lead and you’re not attacking, that’s one of the few things Sim has and one of the first things the majority of Sim players go for from my personal experience. I suck at it, but I’ve seen a lot of players that are completely conditioned to jabbing/fiercing, or in case of Chun close s.HK, the teleport instantly. Chun’s a tad bit more vulnerable to higher teleports because her close LP and HK can whiff and get punished. Not sure what would work in that case, but that’s neither here nor there.
Dunno too much about the Viper match-up. I know about the c.mk during Oki, which you do. I think you go for the air2air game a lot because you like landing the U2 that way, but maybe neutral jump more instead. It’s a bit less of a commitment and takes quicker reactions or better prediction to AA unless you’re right next to them. If you happen to see a BK go under you can punish with a beefy combo. I’m a big proponent of neutral jumps. Mainly because it takes a very specific counter most of the time, and once people start going for those you got them looking for one thing and you can go for another. It’s misdirection like in a magic trick.
Here’s a couple of recent vids, been working on implementing c.hp x legs and the loop into my game more:

My goal in the end is to be able to rely heavily on regular legs combos so that I build meter fast for super.
Also the video vs. Ken has an interesting occurrence in it, it’s a good thing I found this in training mode just the day before
Top notch execution. Sick stuff there man. Maybe you could snap a quick video of your piano execution?
I’ve only pulled off a cl.hk > lk.legs> cr.lk > ex.legs once… gyah…
awesome job skatan!! if only there was a ps3 pad tutorial -.-.
anyway, there are indeed weird stuff happening versus ken… like air focus…

i went to training mode to see if you really can do that but can takes forever to do his FA after landing an empty jump. weird.
Jedoy: Learn how to do cr. fp > rh. legs > mk legs.
Great vids. Going to watch them all – and not for nothing, that BG music sounds MUCH more gdlk than the original stuff they composed for Super. >: )
Unfortunately my execution isn’t near where I want it to be yet, but it’s coming along atleast.
And yes, the sfz3 music is awesome, so deliciously 90’s!
Yeah, your execution is a lot more on point. For now, I’ve been getting the hang of cr. fp to rh legs > mk legs sequence quite consistently… just now working on the timing for the rest of the loop the way you demonstrated in the clips
Video of myself against a cody :

Thanks for your post.
I’ll think about it.
nice link to super.
there were a few times cody stuck out a special that you could have ultra’d in round one. I probably would have used super to punish that CU in round 3 before you hit a link into it
My little contribution to the thread
min 2:14 cr.hp x legs loop combo
sick. Are you pianoing the inputs for the loop or are you sliding them?
That was hot.
That Cody was pretty damn good. Gj beating him. He was a little random/risky/ballsy with the EX ruffian kicks but overall pretty solid. That last round you hurt him really bad early on totally pushed it in your favor. Nice match. Do you ever got for single j.HP into c.LK as a mixup to the double? Think you’ll get a lot of people with that mixup, it’s hard to block. What can I say about the dash ultra ftw? Awesome read.
