Chun-li Video/Discussion Thread

Nice comeback. I’ll remember to mash more jab and up/down+kick buttons when they get close online.

For anyone having trouble with Rose, smart shit comes from Y24’s hands, always! :china:

Enjoy! :lovin:

lol online sucks. The worst is going from an all day casuals matches offline then going online and having to resort to online tactics for a win or 2 just to feel better about loosing.

About Sim i don’t have a lot of experience.
Here what i learned from videos (Shizza money match, japanese players) and advice from here

At Fullscreen and 3/4 screen random kikoken HP beat random poke
Sim options are :

  • stop random pokes
  • Start a fireball battle
  • Try to close the distance and poke again
  • Teleport PPP before you kikoken
  • Jump forward and wait in the air your next move
  • Walk and slide under kikoken

At Mid range Chun li cannot random kikoken because :

  • Teleport KKK is fast
  • Random poke have priority
  • Sim can jump and poke in the air like that he avoid “kikoken vs poke”

When you counter yoga fire with kikoken, be careful of not doing it too late.
Usually Sim follow is fireball and if you wait too long he can poke the recovery for free.
But Ex Kikoken beat this tactic
Of course 1 hit of ex kikoken don’t do a lot of damage but it can help in the end of the round

I need to understand (punish or avoid) :

i tend to walk back a step after sim throws a fireball if they’re teleport-happy. cl.rh when he appears, it’s some damage and he air resets right next to you. the step back is so i don’t get trapped with the fireball, if the sim knows his spacing he can set up stupid little traps like this if you don’t move. the cl.rh is effective enough that i can just do it on reaction when i see the teleport & otherwise just play my game the way i want to. doesn’t need to be fished for or anything. as for other teleports, if he’s not doing the IA version you can usually nj.rh. i have yet to see these other teleports not be horribly telegraphed, cuz a solid sim ain’t jumping toward you very often. maybe if i ran into it more i’d have more answers to it :stuck_out_tongue:

slide is usually followed by throw if they’re right up close, i use lk hasanshu the first one or two chances to discourage the sliding. if he’s sliding under fireballs just follow behind your fireball a little further away than usual & punish it with sweep. if you can’t get to it to sweep in time, watch for another slide or an instant overhead. goes without saying that sim doesn’t like the midrange unless they’re very confident they can push you back out.

got nothin’ to say about U2, i have literally never been hit by it, and it ain’t because i’m just that good :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, these online guys are killer… it’s like the best idea but people mess it up soooo much…

I was quietly watching this and then …

Might edit in \ post some more as I get them.
Feel free to critique, appreciate it.

Randomly saw your post come up as one of the most recent ones, so i decided to come have a looksee.

In the match vs Hydro, you had him under pressure in the corner towards the end of round 2, which was paying off, but then you backed off and went for a fireball and allowed him to escape, which lead to you losing the round. There were also a couple of unsafe blocked spirals that you didnt punish, but that being said, those fucking things are a pain in the ass to punish for some reason. The only thing that really bothered me about the match was you dropping your pressure in the 2nd round.

Haha random, sup brother!

Yeah good call there, definitely something I need to pay more attention to

You were far more agressive against Guy and Abel, so I was wondering why you played defense against Rose.
You managed to put a lot of pressure on Rose, but you would go back to throw fireballs. That dropped the pressure on Rose, letting her turn the match in her favor.
Also, would you mind playing against me someday ? Your Chun-li is really good and I’m really needing some help to make my game better.

I have alot of respect for that Rose players skill, perhaps too much :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure, feel free to add me if you are on PSN and we can test our connection, but because I am from New Zealand our connection to each other might be terrible.

Uryo replay solid chun. Obviously his viper is more dangerous. Barely gets randomed out by a gouken ultra mash.

Apparently Chun got a buff in Super that none of us were aware of
