How do close RH/FP work for anti-airs/cross ups? I havent ever tested it, but cl.RH in 3s worked in some really strange ways.

SERIOUSLY?

wow… i’ve never had a problem with it wiffing against emptys or anything… but i do time it a BIT late… only time i had probs with this wiffing was after i had done lie a 3 day online stint… i went to the arcade and was doing it too early… lol.

what move were you trying to hit when ryu empty jumped and made this wiff? his jumping fierce? i havent played against a ryu that uses jumping fierce liberally enough to know if the timing/angle is different enough to warrant a wiff when mixed up against chuns aa’s.

i forgot the exact scenario when this happened recently, but i must have been anticipating a roundhouse from mid range and threw it out too early. He was close enough to the kick for me to notice the hitbox glitch though.

Anyway i understand the hitboxes alot better now. I just thought i would post that empty jump is another one of Ryu’s options that ruin Chun’s AA game.

I fall in love for Close RH to beat crossup attempt or close jump in (look skatan milla video versus Sagat to see !!!)

Close RH = 4 frames
Close FP = 4 frames
Close Strong = 4 frames

Top tier normals for me !!!

I love chun li ^^

Anyone want to give me some constructive criticism on my Chun? I just started playing her about a week ago and I need help…

I’ll post additional as I get them uploaded to youtube…

anyone want to fight?

The one thing I noticed was that jp fierce into EX SBK combo. Why not just land and do jp. fierce into a regular BnB combo (cr. short x3, EX Legs)? Plus, EX SBK is better as an AA. Also, never do cr. short X 3 into EX SBK. As you can see (0:41) , it completely whiffs your opponent and it gives him time to punish.

2:22. A wasted Ultra. In this matchup, save your Ultras after landing a lvl 3 focus or a blocked cr. fierce.

That’s all for now I guess. When u aren’t playing casuals, focus on practicing your bread and butter combos (since u just started playing as her).

EDIT:

if are still on PSN, I’ll play ya for a bit. Hit me up on Youtube

Thanks for the tips man… thats one thing I have a problem with,… I dont know how to abuse a dizzy and/or focus crumple… I definitely want to learn…

Also, one last challenge w/ her that I have is to get the legs/EX legs consistently… is there a specific technique? I know the piano method,… but I can’t get it consistently…

Thanks for the crit Wii! I am trying to severely cut my HSU usage, it opens me to waay too much damage from FA baits, whiffs, etc. You are spot on with the mix-up comment, I need to add a lot more to my gameplan, that is something I am working on. With the df RH, I can’t give you a solid answer why I wasn’t using it in the Dayasha session, it is definitely a part of my skill set. Thanks again for taking the time.

Bahn - When you’re right, you’re right… I will make no excuses. What I will do is work. 2010 is going to be the year of smooth, clean inputs and consistent execution.

Happy New Year everyone!

A few notes:

-You were jumping way more than you should be against Dhalsim. Your opponent wasn’t on point with his anti airs, but be aware that a better Sim would have punished your poorly timed jumps.

-Ex bird is a bad combo ender as mentioned above, not only because it can whiff but even when you do cr.hp xx ex bird it sends your opponent flying away. Unless you’re near the corner or againt Gief, this isn’t worth it as you want to stay on top of your opponent. Especially Dhalsim! You’re basically getting in, and then giving him a chance to keep you out again.

-You landed target combo (b+mk) a couple of times, which was hilarious, but remember that move is inefficient. Poke with st.mp or even sweep from that distance.

-You didn’t attempt to throw your opponent at all. Maybe I don’t remember now but I didn’t see any techs or throws. Throws are good against Sim. His lack of mobility and priority up close means he will often block while waiting for a chance to strike back or get away. Take advantage of this hesitation with a throw.

-You rushed in from the start. Take it easy, absorb a few hits, build some meter while observing your opponent. This will also instill some hesitation in him. Meter serves you far more than it serves him, plus you never know he might do something stupid like try to rush you.

On

NO scrub your just a waste of my fucking time, i think you need to seriously pick a new character, because this chun stuff is really hurting you down.

So quick question, does anyone in here fight to train or is it only a chat forum? I would really like to fight you guys. Oh and I see I’ve been followed by a troll. Hello troll still on my c**k? Tito please go get some vagina noone is even paying attention to you Not even your idol. This will be the last time I address you girl.

i discovered something quite useful if i hit a level one focus against your opponent and hit close standing RH, if your opponent tries to jump obv they get hit if they try to throw they get hit and if they jab the close standing RH counter hits. try it out on rog in practice and it trades with jab dp if timed right

Thanks so much for the tips… VERY helpful…

I’ve put up some new Chun vids on my page:

Hey, what’s the new escape that Sagat can use against safe jump fierce? I want to be able to recognize it when I see it so I can somewhat tell what’s on the Sagat player’s mind in a wake up situation if he’s knows about it.

Yesterday I got to experience a few of Sagat’s frame traps. That and a cross up tiger knee in the corner if he landed a throw. EX SBK got stuffed and only worked a few times. EX HSU could avoid it but sometimes left Chun open to be punished anyway. It was weird. I wish I knew exactly how it was set up so I could practice defending it ( I didn’t try cr. mk to dodgem’ but it was a meaty TK so I’m not sure if I had time to ).

I’ve been on PSN quite a bit this winter break. The thing is, my closer/local friends are usually the first to spot me and send an invite as soon as I get on so I’m playing with them most of the time. Otherwise I’m willing to fight and train with other Chun players. Just message me on PSN or whatever and if I’m not already playing, I’ll fight.

yea so check out this progodbeastmode chun li tutourial i found you all may luv it, it may improve every last one of your gameplay even mine.

and please feel free to let me know how you feel.

Similar in principle to the Nemo string (cr.lp, cl.HK) in that you are fishing for counterhit HK though not as safe because you have to dash forward after the Level 1 FA. I don’t trust my ability to do setups off Lv1 FA yet but could be handy mixup for those of you who have confidence in using it.

And like the Nemo string you can combo Hasan-shu (or EX Legs) after the counterhit HK which leads to more combos/mixups.

LOL classic…

Sagat escapes Chun Li’s safe jump fierce with focus and dash under.

If they do that then just start doing the real safejump.
That’ll teach them that solving one of Chun’s tricks doesn’t close her giant book of okizeme shenanigans.
Sadly, the book is much shorter than Akuma’s :frowning:
